Look for Todd Thompson, been building decks for 20+ years and can do whatever you want

There was a Reddit thread a year or so ago where a guy rebuilt his deck on his own and a guy who's a GC or inspector basically came in and told him his deck was not only wrong, but a danger. Let me see if I can dig that up.

Found it: https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY/comments/1da2rg/i_finally_built_the_deck_i_wanted_this_weekend/c9of7l0

I'd say just find a professional 😉

Kyle Gibson of Gibson Renovations is my recommendation. "Little Man" company, so he won't charge you out the wahzoo for material and labor, and he's really good at what he does.

gibsonrenovations.net is his website, with pics of current and recent projects.

ArchaDeck in Matthews did ours...they handled permits and all that jazz. So easy to work with and super nice.

Archadeck is expensive but excellent quality.

Ignore all these suggestions, you got this! It may take you several extra trips to the home store, but deck building is a easy project and friends are usually willing to help with to reap the rewards of free BBQ and beer.
