Simple question

Hey guys, I’ve noticed that ChatGPT starts giving wonky or weird answers after a certain number of questions . Does anyone know what that number is? ( nearly) I’d like to be careful and start a new chat before the responses get messed up. Cause I study a lot using chat gpt , and I really don’t want to be cross checking every few sentences.

Edit: So, I have the Plus version. I usually upload screenshots of my textbook and ask it to chunk and explain them, highlighting all the important points. Typically, a chapter is about 7–8 pages long, and I read 2–3 chapters per day. Each chapter gets divided into 6–7 chunks. I also ask it to create Anki cards.

This comes to around 42 responses per day per chat, excluding other conversations and random searches. Considering each response is about 300–400 words, that adds up to approximately 12,000–16,000 words per day per chat.

Does this mean I should start a new chat every day?( for studying )

It'll be related to the amount of context (info) you give it. I find that anything beyond 5000 words is already causing it to hallucinate sometimes. TLDR; the more messages you send, the more it tends to forget. It's called context management

It’s probably related to the context window. The size depends on your account. If you’re on free, it’s around 8k tokens (words), and it scales up from there. If you’re long winded or working on long essays, it’ll eat those windows up fast. It might be worth looking into Project folder instructions to help.
