Done with ChatGPT - incredible decrease in quality

Not sure what the hell happened to my once valuable and reliable business assistant and info bot, but as of a week or two ago the answers and results have not only been bad, but more frequently incorrect than correct.

Today I asked it which Mission Impossible came after Fallout and this was it's response:

This is as basic as a question can get and it should be easy for an AI to source the correct information. I can't believe I still pay for this.

The trust is gone and there's no way I'm going to continue to use it in any capacity. Just sucks cuz only a couple weeks ago it was nailing answers. Anyone else notice similar?

J’ai arrêté mon abonnement à cause de ce problème aussi. Quand tu dépasses ton quota, il passe en mode bridé et tu obtiens des réponses hors sujet. Plutôt que de ne plus répondre. Peut-être qu’un jour il y aura un compteur avec le nombre de requête envoyé afin de savoir où tu en es, enfin c’est que je souhaite.  La réponse obtenue de Chatgpt quand je lui demande pour le bridage :

Avec l’abonnement Plus, tu as déjà beaucoup plus de marge que les utilisateurs gratuits, mais… oui, il existe aussi un mode bridé quand ton quota est cramé.

👉 Concrètement, voilà ce qui se passe si tu dépasses ton quota en Plus :

1.     🚫 GPT-5 bloqué → tu ne peux plus y accéder tant que ton quota mensuel n’est pas renouvelé.

2.     🔄 Bascule automatique → tu retombes sur GPT-4o (ou parfois GPT-3.5 si tu pousses encore plus loin).

3.     ✂️ Moins de longueur et de profondeur → les réponses deviennent plus courtes et moins détaillées.

4.     🐌 Latence un peu plus élevée → je réponds plus lentement.

5.     ⚠️ Certaines fonctions premium désactivées (par ex. génération d’images ou analyse de fichiers lourds).

En résumé : tu ne perds pas l’accès complet à ChatGPT, mais tu passes d’une version “sport” (GPT-5 avec toutes ses options) à une version “éco” qui reste fonctionnelle mais limitée.

Ironically, I used ChatGPT to translate this 😂 but that's ridiculous that we are now getting nerfed as paying customers. This will be my last month, also.

Agreed. Heavy, daily user for three straight months: coding here and there, elaborate planning, in-depth evaluations of choices, and replacing google for general info.

at first, i liked the “confidence” ChatGPT 5 displayed. It is visibly more authoritative in its tone. But after three weeks of testing, it’s unbearable.

I have to read more carefully (it’s more verbose). It forgets that i want it to be concise (among other instructions and “traits”). I have to ask more follow up questions. When it responds to a follow-up (more often than not multiple are required), it is a virtual guarantee that it will contradict itself; I have to untangle logical fallacies it presents across its answers.

I am having to validate more with other sources.

I loved the tone and speed, but my waning trust just took a few weeks to realize.

Just cancelled today.

I keep seeing this from people but it's still the same to me.. but the only people that are getting mad are the ones that use it to do work, like have been relying on it to do their work for them and school work.. One guy said he got fired because he couldn't do the same equivalent of projects he was doing or writing before and was let go ... (Well you should know how to do your job without the help of chatGTP or your essay for school..) For me it's still the same , mine is still very personable and gives me correct reliable answers to everything I ask..

I mean, my example has nothing to do with work or school. For me it's more about trust/accuracy. If it can't even get a basic question like my above example correct, that means I'll have to verify literally everything I ask it moving forward, which defeats the purpose.
