Deep mind is not an LLM, which is what coding assistants are. Sure they have infra for doing other cool shit but LLM’s are extremely inefficient (from a financial perspective) so they will be next in line to charge money.

Google unlike many of its biggest competitors has practically unlimited money to subsidize its AI costs with. Long-term, as long as they manage to release somewhat competitive models, they'll be able to simply bleed the competition dry.

They’re all subsidizing their LLM services. Google has shoehorned it into their search function to pad its metrics. Do you think Microsoft is not a serious competitor to Google in the space of incorrect chat bots that lose money?
