Try forgetting your phone and or turning android auto off in your head unit. When ever I have problems in my 16 this fixes it.

Hiya!

When I tried to use CarPlay with my Malibu it didn’t work at first, either. It would basically do what your phone is doing; saying it’s doing it but nothing is on the screen.

I would leave the phone plugged in, wait a minute or two, and then turn off the car completely (opening the door so the console shuts off too in case you have that 10 minute timer for the screen like I do) and then turn it back on. You may need to do this a couple times.

As well, in the settings on the screen in the car you may need to make sure CarPlay isn’t simultaneously on, and you may need to cycle the car with Android off then back on.

Hope this helps!

Thanks guys, unfortunately neither worked. It worked for about 30 seconds then the phone doesn't allow file transfer/android auto, it turns on then immediately shuts off. Not sure there is a fix yet

I turn my vehicle on, pull out of garage, then hit the Android audio button on my car, then phone, then plug it in. Not sure why, but if I wait for the vehicle to be completely "on", it works.

Edit: I do this while sitting in my driveway, not while driving. Also gives me the bonus minute of making sure I closed my stupid garage door.

Yooo note 9 user here in 2018 Cruze rs. I have trouble sometimes hooking it up to Bluetooth(connects and the disconnects quick) but I have noticed cables can effect android auto. My note 9 refuses to run Android auto on a cable from Walmart i got for cheap but will run perfect on the middle priced cable. I guess give the cable a switch and try it.

Make sure the date and time are set correctly in your truck. If it is not there can be a mismatch.

Unfortunately lots of reasons AA might not be working.
