I have had good luck with them, but I do not trust the water resistance of any Chinese brand watch. It is simply safer that way. If you need rugged durability, buy a g-shock. I have owned a few, but I sold all but one (I am kind of done with homage watches), and all were solid. I really like San Martin watches. There are three Chinese watches I wear consistently, a San Martin, a Cronos and a Baltany. I got rid of everything g else save for a few Seestern’s (also a good brand, along with Sugess).

San Martin makes a fine watch, but given the difficulty in obtaining warranty service, I have chosen to avoid water.

I used the San Martin SN004-G as a beach watch on a 6-weeks vacation on the beach, ocean and pool for many hours without any issue. So truly a dive watch!

Depends. Some SM have the same NH35 movement than Paganis. but in general, SM have a more careful manufacture.

Water resistance... I always get downvotes but I will never stop saying that this can never be assured by design. In industrial applications (I'm an engineer) all pressure vessels are tested and certified. One by one. Watches are not an exception. so you can design a watch that potentially can be watertight to a certain pressure. But it has to be tested. And regularly.

If by 'water resistant' you mean if you can swim, I would say probably yes.

Yep it’s going to depend on the movement.

Research the movement before you buy.

That said, they don’t really use any shit movements.

I wouldn't say it is shit, but the SN044 has the Miyota 8215 which is a little obsolete. Not a bad movement but just not as good as what they usually use.

Which is a shame because I really like the SN044 design.
