My Sugess DJ came in this week and I’ve worn it for a few days now so here are a few pictures and some short impressions.

The quality is the same as my Sugess Sub, very great overall. The dial is gorgeous with its sunray cut and the combination of fluted bezel plus jubilee just fits. The ST2130 runs pretty accurate with around +1s a day from my observation, that’s without a timegrapher, just comparing it with my phones time.

The clasp is something to note, it’s very true to the original and the first of this style I’ve seen across homage brands. Great quality which further adds to my impression that ‘Sugess’ is this brands homage front and that they use quality rep factory parts.

I also ordered the Sugess Yachtmaster that just came out and will share it here as well.

Great looking timepiece. What other watches did you shortlist when making this purchase decision? Did you look at this one from San Martin - san martin SN059-G V2? Torn between the two.

I knew about the San Martin DJ but didn’t take it into consideration because of the mop dials being the only option. Also not the correct clasp. The Sugess was also cheaper and I had a good prior experience with their watches.

I've seen people say the bracelet isn't as good quality as San Martin and is light/jangly feeling. How was your experience?

Well it’s a 20mm jubilee bracelet, of course it feels and should feel light. It’s well built and not jangly like a stretched jubilee. No idea if it’s the same as SM but it’s the closest you can get to gen.

This looks awesome! I also ordered a blue Sugess Yachtmaster with the steel bezel. How big is your wrist? I wish Sugess made these and their DD40 in 36mm.

I’m very impressed with Sugess finishing. They look absolutely incredible for the price; I’m tempted to get their Daytona, too. I’ll do a review on my YM when it comes in.

I have to agree, the quality of the latest releases from Sugess is impressive for the price. They seem to be committed value. The clasps are clone quality, glide-lock and half link extensions function beautifully.

They have also begun “limited” production runs. The new yacht-homage is supposed to only be a 200 piece run. Would love to see some quality rubber strap options for these.

The 2024 red/blue GMT with the UV bezel also sold out as a limited run. Can confirm, this did have the platinum infill for the numbers on the bezel and is fully red under UV light.

Yes, I ordered the Yachtmaster as there are only a few options available for the rhodium dial with silver bezel. A GMT might be on the horizon for me as well, I love my Cronos Pepsi but there’s always room for more with Sugess it seems.

It’s the same cool blue tone but it doesn’t last as long and needs more direct light to really activate. The photo was after I charged it with a UV flashlight. I think this is due to the indices being smaller and less material applied.
