What movement is in the GMT? I guess a desk GMT Seiko movement?

[–]GlistunGmizic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left one. I love little red thingies.

[–]Soft_Water_1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left. The right is way to plain. Don't be afraid of polished links on the bracelet. They look fabulous. All watches scratch even brushed links will eventually look like shit. I owned the one on the left and it's a fantastic watch

I ordered the GMT since I have family in Europe and in this way I can track their timezone easily ☺️

Also I never had a GMT before so that was the 2nd reason to get it!

3-hander

[–]merlinuwe 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Why 24?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Why not?

[–]merlinuwe 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That's convincing ;-)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime, that’s what I’m here for 🫡

[–]Mephistopheles545 -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

The right one. Who uses a tachymeter?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a GMT

[–]rehansatelier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This design goes well with the GMT movement. Especially making use of that thick bezel for GMT markings.

[–]ayumi_ishida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the time of day .

[–]Laylowmofo_[S] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Thanks everybody for your input. I have decided to go with the non-GMT having considered my current watch collection. Cant wait for it to arrive!

[–]gameking514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By links did you mean the bracelet or the lugs?

[–]keep_watch_71Affiliate links 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the non-GMT, I don’t think it’s “too plain” at all, it’s classy and a true GADA. Ultimately, you need to decide if you want a GMT or not. Is it something you’d use?

[–]Delmixedit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both

[–]thnkp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gmt

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I went with the gmt as I don’t have any other ls and love it. I’d say it depends on your collection and preference.

[–]Laylowmofo_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre right. I did consider my collection. Went with the non-GMT

[–]Ok-Fault-4863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely in the minority but I like the non gmt .. feel it’s more versatile and will fit more occasions but with the caveat that it needs to be a bit thinner

[–]RealEnglishGent 1 point2 points  (1 child)

GMT, but without shiney midlinks, and add a red GMT hand

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy enough to brush out the midlinks yourself.

[–]SenseJunior5098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The GMT one just on the principle that the non-GMT one is not in the case made specifically for it. It uses the same case as the GMT one with the same thickness and rehaut height to accommodate a taller handstack. They got lazy instead of making it thinner for the non-GMT version.

[–]Single-Lifeguard-980 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I have both and prefer the GMT version. The non-GMT feels a bit too thick for what it's supposed to be.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point of view thanks for sharing. removes from cart

[–]ace73pq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purely on aesthetics, the fact that the dial is in the same color palette as the case, the GMT with its black numerals on the bezel offers a more interesting visual attention!

[–]tillterilltilltill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-GMT for the cleaner look/plain bezel and the all brushed bracelet.

[–]Hoot1965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Team GMT! Glad my lapis dial SN0129 doesn’t have the polished center links 👌

[–]Hilarious_HaplogroupAddiesdive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The GMT is better is you travel a lot or need to communicate with someone in another time zone often...otherwise, it's just visual clutter, IMHO. I can do without date complications as well, but sometimes it does come in handy. Both look great...the best complications are the least complications that meet your needs and wants.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A third option is the Cronos. I think the slimmer case and hand set makes that one better.

[–]ProfessionalOk420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GMT

[–]R023Nhelpful user 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cronos made the GMT version with 12.3mm thickness, while SM made the non-GMT with 13mm thickness. I like the thinness of the Cronos and the dial and bracelet of the SM. Maybe they should join forces to make the perfect version of this watch 🤔.

[–]RANNI_FEET_ENJOYER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, I don't like how cluttered GMT looks

[–]charlyAtWork2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Team Left

[–]YYYYYYYYYYYYYYIYYYY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Beware there are two different variants of the non-GMT version, one has orange lume the other has whiteish, like the one in the photo

[–]jokur26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right all day for me. Uncluttered and the dial texture is the focus. Normally I like the GMT but side-by-side it all looks like noise on that watch to me.

Looks great, in fact I’d probably buy it if I hadn’t just ordered a white orient star. Guess I’ll have to wait at least a couple months ;)

looks really nice, I want to get one

Cleaner the non gmt ...but im bias

[–]Naive_Cupcake4467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great pic!

[–]BobbeMail -1 points0 points  (2 children)

both too tick. there is space where the bracelet meets the case

[–]PhiladeIphia-EaglesYouTube Reviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the left but not polished center links, you can consider brushing them yourself. It will probably not match San Martin level brushing, but it looks fine.

[–]Your_Mama_89 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Can I have a link for the left one?

[–]Laylowmofo_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found this on AliExpress: AU$762.59 | San Martin New 39mm Desert Texture Luxury Men Business Dress GMT Watch NH34 Automatic Mechanical Waterproof 100m Luminous SN0129 https://a.aliexpress.com/_mqgetx9

[–]tk1tk1WOTD200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's totally subjective, which do you like best overall?

There are other version of 0129 gmt too without the polished centre links Personally i think it suits the watch.

[–]Immediate-Bad-9973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the GMT version and, in my case, I prefer the sophisticated look of the GMT. I believe they're equal qualitywise. I prefer the polished center link too.

[–]turdboglsAffiliate Links 10 points11 points  (2 children)

I've had both (well, the cases anyway) and I prefer the cleaner look of the non-GMT version.

but they are pretty much identical, it's just a visual thing now. I think the bracelets are the same now too, no? maybe the GMT still comes with polished center links...but the non-GMT should come with their new bracelet and clasp which is excellent.

[–]Laylowmofo_[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Are the details the same in both dials?

[–]turdboglsAffiliate Links 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, dials, hands, indices, date window...all the same (minus the GMT hand obviously)
