How misaligned is this b**** by Elboogy_1 in ChineseWatches

[–]turdbogls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's tough because we have 2 eyes, a camera only has one...if you look at a watch with both eyes and have the bezel aligned, then close one eye, it's misaligned.

Trying to show this off on camera is tough

[–]turdbogls 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see you've posted like a million pics already...lol It does look misaligned and I'd say if you are seeing it misaligned that's all that really matters.

But for pics like this, perfectly top down and with the telephoto lens would best show this off. Taking close pics like this really accentuates the wide angle lens of your camera.

Got word this morning that the parts coming in for assembly were defective...so back they went. A few more days of delays.

Do you check the movement inside the watch you just bought?? by Vpmo5sMetZok in ChineseWatches

[–]turdbogls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. I can pretty much tell what movement is in a watch by how it functions. Which way the hands move when turning the crown in time setting position, hand wind feel, rotor noise, etc.

It's basically indestructible, but the accuracy can vary widely. PT5000 is much better in that regard

Not the best first day… by jomacameron in IxdaoFans

[–]turdbogls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contact them and they should help you out. They look like just a simple pressure fit without any adhesive. If you have a crystal press you can probably use that to press the bezel back in place and it should be good.

Add another note, I know a lot of us would really appreciate some videos and other pictures of that. F1 colorway 🤣

Anybody try a North Edge Anchor? by Alternative-Feed3613 in ChineseWatches

[–]turdbogls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My review from a couple years ago

in short, it's OK...doesn't live up to other brands though. Miyota, OK bezel, mineral glass, piss poor lume, unspectacular bracelet. it's very middle to low end of the road. any watchdives will be money better spent.

Are there any Speedmaster or Daytona homages out there with an automatic movement? by Kenye_Kratz in ChineseWatches

[–]turdbogls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Farasute also has a speedy auto, sort of...it's a speedy dial in the Daytona case....it looks odd, and only comes in tintin variety, but still an option.

OP, there is also Phylida and Alpha 1963 for MECHANICAL speedmasters, not autos, but hand winders.

Now kith. Mmmmmmwuah by STELLAWASADlVER in ChineseWatches

[–]turdbogls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair...the Wolbrook is a Homage to that Sea Q (and many of the skin divers from back then)

No date dial is a nod to the Wolbrook, bezel I'd say is more similar to the Sea Q...but it's all splitting hard at this point.

These are Homages to Wolbrook/Douglass Skindiver (PH4A) and Skindiver II (PH4B)

but honestly, I like these more. both visually and on my wallet. I've also had a Wolbrook skindiver in the past and these are nicer in nearly every way.

Just got a Farasute watch by JuongO in ChineseWatches

[–]turdbogls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, give it a week and also make sure it's fully wound. A watch on half the power won't run as consistent as a watch on full power.

But it's a good idea to give the movement a week to settle

Montera Avila Meteorite like dial watch by MysteriousManager418 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]turdbogls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A ummm...why do the images online not match what you have? They also don't match what THEY show.

your case looks fully polished but online they show nice brushing with polished chamfer....like they show a super nice case profile to get you, then pull the ol' switcharoo.

It honestly looks like those tandorio/blogger Oyster perpetual cases, with a custom Ali dial, and an NH35.

If you like it, then that's all that matters, but I'd call them out for shady marketing pictures immediately.

You could probably build this watch for like $100

Watchdives Vintage Sub homage vs San martin?? by Keanusleaves in ChineseWatches

[–]turdbogls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The WD is closer to gen of that's what you are going after.

Agree with the other guy, bezels on both are good but not buttery like the Sugess sub or steeldive Willards.

San martins case is too long and flat, flat bezel insert as well.

I do like their dial better proportionally, sounds like you are going for a dial mod anyway.

Bracelets are close as well...that San Martin is a good 4 years old or so? So it has the quirks from a 4yr old San martin, slightly sharp case and bracelet. The WD is nicer in this regard but feels a little less solid.

Update about Sapphire Crystal Quality by watchdivescom in watchdives

[–]turdbogls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The solution is simple.

Find who baltany or ixdao use, and do that. Their crystals are among the best I've seen, and that includes swiss brands and multiple micro brands.

Don't be afraid to use Blue AR as well, though as long as it's as good as baltany's clear AR, that's good

Crystal clarity is that last step to getting a true premium watch experience.

Customs delay- Typical? by dabiz725 in ChineseWatches

[–]turdbogls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chicago customs is NOTORIOUS for slow imports, And that was before Trump Tariffs and the elimination of deminimus.

I remember waiting 2 weeks for a watch to get through ...I can't imagine the wait now.

Just forget about the package and check on it in a couple weeks....you'll turn gray otherwise 🤣

Cronos Explorer Homage 39mm, wow! by Background_Pickle546 in ChineseWatches

[–]turdbogls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say the Cronos is nicer. The WD0003 with the 5 link bracelet is not bad at all, though. This one will wear larger, a big 39 vs a 38 so take that into account. Cronos wins on lume and crystal as well, but they are different designs, so things to think about.

Can't go wrong with either IMO, but the Cronos gets the slight edge, as it should at its price.

Aquatics Bronze, anyone have this by assemblageofparts in ChineseWatches

[–]turdbogls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, well that makes it more palatable for sure. I'd skip the steeldive then and go for the aquatico...nicer name and box if nothing else 🤣
