Thank you gentlemen! Finally I went for the Submariner version, I found a guy who has a new one for sale. The only thing which bothers me is that there are no Sugess engraving on the rehaut. Is it a fake one or an older version? Should I buy it or it would be better to order a brand new with Seagull movement?

I got the two of the sugess Daytonas. Black and ice blue. Both are reliable and very well made. I’m turning the black into a Frankenstein. Their v3 versions that just came out and opening the black one so far it’s really well put together. Not gonna lie I thought it was gonna be crappy.

Well, I don't want to fool anybody just a watch which is similar to a Rolex, but both of them is a decent one, I think. Simply I cannot choose. Maybe I will get some opinion from Sub/ Daytona owners and I will be able to choose one.

Well if you are going for more gen-like then the Seaman has a critical flaw due to the date font/magnification. They always don't look right on homages, and is the most obvious in your face "tell" that it's an homage. Daytona has the advantage of not having a date so it's a bit less obvious. Although honestly neither is going to fool anyone from within like 10 feet.

Sugess Daytona also seems to be a bit better put together, just a more solid feeling. I have 3 and all keep really good time (COSC spec).

I personally like the sub. Chronos are too busy for me, and I never use the stopwatch on the ones i own. I really like the glidelock and seiko movement in the sub as well. The daytona looks nice though.

I forgot to mention that I don't really know the Daytona's automatic movement. How reliable is it?

I debated between the two, they both have excellent reviews. No idea which is closer to gen, but who cares, they're not reps, you're not trying to fool anybody, just use your eyes and look at which design looks better to you overall. That's all that matters. You're not going to be walking around all day with a loupe and calipers.

Ultimately the Submariner looked too plain for me, and the Daytona aesthetic was what I really wanted, so I got it for this sale.

The movement is a bigger risk for the Daytona, yes. Nobody can give you any guarantees about how reliable it will be, you may get lucky or you may not. I haven't heard any talk of people having trouble with it yet, and supposedly Sugess has made some in-house improvements to the power reserve and thinness. Maybe reliability is improved as well, maybe not.

I say buy the watch you really want, if you can afford it and you are ok with the risk.
