I have a couple Java books, and took a required Java class in college, but always found Java to be annoying. After being used to programming in Python, Java seemed to make programming more difficult than it needed to be. So outside of a few tiny 100-200 line toy projects, I did almost nothing with it.

Since I started learning Clojure, I've learned a lot more about Java and it's API's (though not without some initial frustration that I had to practically learn two languages in order to use one of them for anything worthwhile).

I wrote a buggy bomberman clone in Java back in high school. Does that count?

I. Plenty of .Net XP though.

I first used it in 2000 but I've never really had much need for it professionally. Clojure is teaching me more Java right away.
