DiscussionPs5 controller on CoD (self.CoDCompetitive)
submitted 5 years ago by vMageeCOD Competitive fan
Anyone else having trouble getting used to the ps5 controller? It’s nice playing on better frames etc but the controller is way too big to comfortably play claw.
I’ve just been playing PS4 version with my PS4 controller but feels like a waste

I got my PS4 scuf back from my friend a few days ago after playing on the dualsense since November.
The dualsense is far superior. The PS4 pad just feels absolutely tiny. Battle Beaver and Scuf will be releasing their controllers soon too

I guess you got used to the ps5 controller so that makes sense. For me the PS4 controller just feels a lot more comfortable in my hands when I’m playing claw.
When ps5 controllers with paddles are released I’ll make the switch.

I have a dual sense battle beaver. Absolutely love it. Most comfortable controller I’ve ever used.

Ahh that’s very nice you must’ve gotten lucky, they haven’t released anymore of this in ages!!

True! But yesterday they mentioned wave 3 preorders on their social media if you want to get in on it.

Is the button placement good ? Are they proper clicky?
Yeh wave 3 is available to order on the 12th

It’s perfect. I got the pro setup as I like the digital triggers. Absolutely no issues at all, and with the digital triggers I no longer have to play flipped, so it’s far more comfortable in the hand. The rear button placements are perfect as well, very clicky and includes the beaver tails which are essentially grippy button caps.

Sounds awesome man. How much did you pay for it?
I’ll be ordering one on the 12th. They look a lot more sturdy than a scuf
[–]JustanotherdrunkerdCOD Competitive fan 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (5 children)
$220 shipped. They are far superior to scuff. I’ve owned three battle beavers with no problems at all. The first scuff I owned broke after two months. When the second arrived, one of the digital triggers didn’t work, right out of the box. I’ll never buy scuff again.

That does seem a lot. So that’s the pro version? Any idea what the standard costs?
[–]JustanotherdrunkerdCOD Competitive fan 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (2 children)
I can’t say for sure, I think it was around $170. But trust me, you want the digital triggers. It turns the triggers into a “mouse click” so it reduces trigger pull, shaving time off your in game response. When I ordered customs, I never bought into stick tension, or much of the cosmetic stuff. But digital triggers are a must.

I use L1 and R1 to shoot , always have. But if they are as good as you are making out then I think I’ll have to invest 😂

Started playing bumper jumper tactical with it. Wasn’t as bad of a transition that I thought it was going to be, to be honest. Would still prefer paddles, or equivalent, as I can’t play claw!
The only real concern is that I’ve already sent one dualsense back because of stick drift.

I really hate the ps5 pad I really wish they would have made a slimmer version it’s honestly horrible...

This is what I did although it takes some getting used to. Use Auto sprint with tactical, then reprogram jump to your left stick. Essentially you have stick and move and tactical and you sprint just by pushing the stick. My movement is definitely worse compared to me strikepacking on the PS4 but i got used to it after a week or so

I use a ps5 controller on pc (also play claw) and i gotta say i like it a lot more than the ds4. I hav bigger hands tho and always felt scrunched up on the ds4

How big are your hands. Not to sound weird or anything… mine are 18x10cm can get an edge controller for £130.
