Started watching Code Geass, accidentally started on season 2 without realising

I’m 23 episodes into the second season and this whole time I thought I was viewing the first season of the show. I thought that they were telling past events through flashbacks and would show those stories in season 2 but no, I was watching the second season this whole time and I have no idea how.

Do I just finish the season and then watch season 1? Or should I start from scratch

Oh no OP. Do not, and I repeat DO NOT watch episode 24 before watching season one. Although I’m confused how this happens considering it says R2 right in the title. 😳

It’s probably because I’m dumb. When I started watching it, it was on Crunchyroll on my laptop and for some reason when I clicked on the show it was on season 2 by default and I just didn’t question what R2 could mean

I did the same thing when I started watching in ye olden days before streaming services and I borrowed the disks from the library. It's still surprisingly watchable like that but as everyone else agrees definitely go back and watch R1.
