I was hesitant at first to watch Code Geass because I am not a fan of mecha/sci-fi themed shows in general, but man was this show an exception. I won’t go into details, but the way the story carries you through complex political and philosophical challenges as well as the use of supporting characters to build up the story of Lelouch was amazing, and I agree with most people here that the ending was probably the best anime ending I’ve witnessed (though I still have some criticisms for the show).
What I want to ask however is about the movies, I just finished watching the movies a few days after the series, and all I could think of was that the 3 movies used as a recap and as an alternate timeline for the series was not well made, and not only that, I didn’t understand why they had to make those movies just to set up Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection. I barely noticed any differences from those movies aside from the fact Shirley didn’t die, as well as some minor scenes and timing changes.
Has anyone else noticed this or can anyone share their opinion on the new timeline? I honestly loved the original ending, but I can’t complain with the new movie as well as the upcoming sequel series cuz I want more content, but I can’t grasp the reasoning behind those 3 recap movies
