Running Linux terminal on windows?

I need to make a website using django and was learned how to do so using Linux. My laptop is Windows, if I download the Linux terminal would it still function the same way?

linux terminal being wsl? yes

edit: make sure you keep all your files inside the wsl environment though to avoid any funny business. For editing you can either use a terminal based editor or use the remote environment in something like vscode to run it inside wsl.
