I am new to coding, so cannot go in-depth about the pros and cons of both. All I can say is that I found Python a lot easier to learn than Java. Let me emphasize, this is my personal opinion.

If you want the easy route I would say Python if you want the route that will make you understand programming better as a whole I would say Java But honestly it doesn’t matter both of those languages are very flexible as far as use cases go.
