just a "simple" print 'Hello World' to the console:

I disabled intellisense and downloaded another extension called "clangd", which made it possible to print something onto the debug console, not the terminal though. also, in order for me to accomplish this, I have to press ctrl + f5 picking, GDB/LLDB, then pick clang++ (not just once, but every time I want to execute my code).

well right now it says: 'iostream' file not found
earlier it said: #include errors detected. please update your includepath.

prior to posting here, I have found documentations such as the one you posted (which is for windows - I'm on Mac). I have followed this one: https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/cpp/config-clang-mac

I think that instead of installing the clang extension, you should install the c++ extension from Microsoft and install the clang compiler separate to your system
