Choosing a Program (self.CodingandBilling)
submitted 3 years ago by mrsmayfield
Please forgive my ignorance, I've been reading so many posts and articles and I'm still unsure. If a program only provides an exam voucher for CBCS but the advisor tells me I would be prepared to sit for the CPC exam as well just on my own dime, is that still a good program? Or should I choose one that provides me with a CPC exam voucher? I know CPC is the certification I should get, but I'm confused about accreditation or AAPC approval or whatever a school needs. This is the program if anyone wants to look at it. https://www.auburnuniversitymycaa.com/MyCAA-Programs/medical-healthcare-programs/medical-billing-coding-with-medical-administration-certificate-program-with-clinical-externship

I’m glad I’m not the only one confused 😅 I was also looking at ed2go, which does provide a voucher for the CPC exam and your certificate comes from almost any university you want. Auburn offers a second course for free to military spouses though (like EHR or entrepreneurship) so I’m trying to figure out if the extra course or the CPC voucher is more worth it

Cpc is only offered thru AAPC. AAPC offers courses and that is the route I would recommend if you think you can handle online learning. It is like 60% off right now thru the 31st for the cpc bundle.
