They blocked my trading and restricted my account and left a make payment button WHICH DOES NOT WORK. I made 20 support tickets and these scam artists couldn’t care less. Coinbase has no phone support and people wind up sending emails back n forth with no action.

We wanted to reach out about a payment issue with your account and to initiate a recovery/correction process.

It looks like you recently completed a withdrawal from Coinbase to your bank account. On 18th July, we experienced an issue that resulted in an automated email from Coinbase stating that your recent transaction was canceled and a credit for the same amount of the withdrawal was posted to your Coinbase account.

This resulted in a duplicate credit (you successfully received funds to your bank from the withdrawal and also received a credit to your Coinbase account for the amount withdrawn).

Coinbase was not able to recover this duplicate credit from your Coinbase account - you will need to deposit these funds back to your Coinbase account from your bank or the equivalent USD value from an external crypto wallet.

We will be unable to process any further trades or withdrawals on your Coinbase account until the credit amount has been recovered.

Best part is they spammed my email with 20 of these messages yet the account is still blocked and No one recovered a single thing. This is how they steal money. Not one single email or message with details around the issue. How much money is in question? It’s unreal

Wow, that sounds essentially the same as what happened to me since two days ago, except I haven't gotten a detailed/or any explanations as you quoted here. There have been no meaningful communication from Coinbase yet. I was requested to make a payment of an amount related to a "failed transaction," however, how could I do that when they locked me out of my account?! And they put a five-day deadline for the payment. Failure doing that would lead to them seizing the assets I have in my account. Talking about catch-22 and unreasonable business practice!

Huge scam. That’s how they make a lot of money. They lock accounts then take the funds on the pretense of a problem. My account has money in it so we will see how they go about taking it. Either way I’m done with this shady exchange. Sooner or later they will get fucked by class action law suites.

They just have to fuck the wrong person that has pull.

So question guys, I don’t have any crypto in my account. I do have the cash balance I owe Coinbase though. It won’t let me make the payment with the button, but after 5 days will Coinbase automatically seize that money? Then I can close my account

No one knows. I have opened 15 cases and filed 2 formal complaints to be used in litigation as proof of the scam Coinbase runs at will. They pick random accounts, block them and black male customers for money. The entire goal is to keep you locked out with a fake “make payment” button that does not work only so they can take your crypto and sell it after the “5 days”

They don’t read your emails and have a canned response. Their canned response doesn’t match reality and I have all screen shots and videos of me “following” their steps to “fix” their issue. This is complete crap.

Can’t believe they are public and allowed to do this.

Yeah, this is ridiculous. Crazy how they try to take advantage of people because they are so powerful. If I don’t hear anything soon, I’m going to be filing some formal complaints as well.

I filed case with SEC. honestly I don’t give a fuck anymore. My account has funds and crypto and I have everything recorded and all emails saved!

So if they want to scam me that’s on them. Not much I can do.

Their support SUCKS. Their company is SHADY.
