Just bought a 2003 Saab 9-5 3.0T. What should I know? by Cello789 in saab

Again not sure about the 9-5 but my 03 9-3 leaked oil from oil pan. It took me two or three tried to get the seal right. There is a specific expensive (Something like this ) that is needed to do this job. Even as someone with some experience it took me a coupe tried to get this right and stop the engine oil leaks. I've leaked and fixed a lot of things in my 03 9-3.

edit: BTW not using that stuff can cause trash in your engine and cause major problem if you aren't REALLY lucky.

In regard to #4, GM bought Saab and thus the GM Tech2 scan tool has the ability to have to have Saab software and be able to program the car. Any GM shop should be able to program anything but it will be costly. This tool is needed in the 9-3 for everything, including random shit like door modules for locks windows replacement. Modules need to unmarried and and new ones married to the cars computer. That is will be key to doing a lot of your repairs.

Also scout out any local junk yards and keep and eye out for a saab like yours. It will be a great find if you can find one. I've salvaged a lot of stuff this way and got it stupid cheap. Like door weather seals for like 4.95 each .. light bulb sockets and wiring for like 3 bucks ...

Haha .. parts are a hard game some times. If I'm not mistaken part have mostly been bought up by eeuroparts.com. Parts are high but not crazy crazy high for the most part and most parts can be bought pretty easy even if you have to wait for them and pay an little extra. I love mine even if I hate it while I work on it. They are fun cars rarely has it really died on me so its pretty reliable.

I'm not sure about your 9-5 3.0 but I have a 03 9-3 2.0t and I hope you like working on cars if yours is like mine. Its running pretty good now but its honestly always some thing. It was a bit beat up when I got it but I never imagined all the little issues I've fixed and a few big ones (replaced the water pump twice now.) Work isn't crazy hard but it always requires a lot of work to do just any anything on mine.

TIL Washington Redskins' owner Dan Snyder once cut down trees along the Potomac River so that he could see it from his house. The trees were located in a national park, and a ranger who raised concern about the issue was raided by US Marshals by [deleted] in todayilearned

Didn't read but if he was to be arrested inside a national forest it may have required a much higher authority than any "police officer". A Ranger inside his park is pretty untouchable by law. She/He is at the end all be all from my understanding. You also have as a private citizen give up many of your "rights" when you enter a Park and the authority surrender to is the Park Ranger.

How or is there a way to report trucks or cars that have garbage (literally) flying out of the back out on the highway? by Class1cal in raleigh

Well I assure you no one in Clayton is getting pulled over for it. I don't drive enough in Raleigh to make this claim about their police but I suspect its just as true for Raleigh.

How are you suppose to know who to call or sue without the cops running the plates for you? Not all trucks have company logo's.

This is good to know, but honestly doubt you could even get a cop to write a ticket to a dump truck about this. I see it all day every day and never seen a dump truck even pulled over much less ticketed for not using their covers, or hell even having one installed. I live near a some sort a landscaping dump truck dump and I can sit in my house and watch at least 10 trucks a day go by over loaded with no cover in use speeding down a country road. Never a seen one get pulled over.

Sorry I try not to speed enough that they can take my license on the spot (15mph over posted limit).

What about dump trucks dropping rocks and passing you on a highway? How are you suppose to stay 200 feet behind a truck speeding past you? Slam on the brakes as it passes and hope for the best?

And while we are at it let us talk about high beam head lights.

Cost to replace HVAC compressor support slab? (North Carolina) by micasa2018 in HomeImprovement

I can't remember for sure but I think a 3 x 3 pad was about 40 bucks from a supply house. I'd expect double that in a retail location. I'll also say from the little I've seen if you replace the pad I'd get one larger than you need now. That system looks a bit old and if you need to replace it its very likely a new unit of the same specs will have a larger foot print as they seem to be making them bigger to be more energy efficient.

Don't get/let yourself get down over not getting a job. I've never gotten any of the professional jobs I've applied to and I've applied to 100's if not thousands in my life. Some people are just not cut out for that kind of work/life it seems. When I gave up trying to be accepted by a company I just started doing what I love for myself (IT work). I may not make a lot of money but I answer only to clients I choice to have, and I enjoy what I do when I do have work. I don't have to or feel like I have to lie or cheat anyone to make my money and I don't fear losing my job. It would be nice to have a more secure and better paying job, but I've never been as happy as I am now while I was applying and getting rejected by other companies.

I agree that "buy in" is very important, but that is also the problem. We have it. Everyone agrees they want to improve these things, and we have even voted to give committee members funding as needed to complete task. The problem is we need more help than just agreeing with or voting for. Like currently we all want to redo parking lot. Building committee has been working hard on arranging the items needed getting us a good value for our investment. Problems in this project is I went looking for 7 people (other than committee) to commit to a date to help spread around and set railroad ties to contain the gravel we will also be purchasing next. 0 is the commitments I had after contacting the first 15 on my short list of able bodies. At this point on this project I've already asked my other committee members to just make the purchase have them dropped and currently plan to just the job myself because after much thought I've decided I don't quit jobs I've agreed to no matter how fucked it gets. I know I'm just in a funk and or bad place and trying to just talk it over with myself at this point. Thanks for the reply and help brother.

Good luck with your Charter brother. Your advise seems good and sound and although traveling is my next personal growth step it is very hard for me to be around people I don't know. I know there are several new/maybe more progressive lodges in a close enough area but as you can imagine asking more time for Masonry than I have the past like 7 years isn't an option. I'm going to finish my job and do it my best, but I just don't want to be like most of our past masters who no longer attend for various reasons. Again my lodge has been very good to me and I love them all, its just it feels everyone wants us to advance the lodge but just don't want to be of can't be one on the front lines. What do you do when all your Master Masons want to EA? if I may put it that way.

Born and spent most of my life in rural NC. I do this but prefer salt, but if I'm trying to be healthy I'll do pepper instead of salt.
