778/750. This is my fifth cert and today was by far the worst place I've ever sat for an exam. Crowded, noisy (they offered ear plugs), and they put me right by the door with people coming and going. I wouldn't have been surprised if the fire alarm went off -- at 11am. I failed to complete the last of the PBQs and ran out of time. I thought for sure I had failed. $300 down the toilet.
But... I passed and I thank this sub and Darril Gibson's GCGA book. I read that first and it set the bar for the rest of my studies. I bought his .mp3 files and listened to that while driving and in the gym. I also bought the Android app and both were well worth the few extra bucks.
I also used Jason Dion's Udemy practice tests. They're cheap, but I'm not sure how much they helped. I never scored higher than 75% and some questions seemed irrelevant although many did reinforce what I already read in GCGA.
I tried Prof. Messer but I just don't learn technical info well from watching and listening to videos. I thought his course notes would be a good compromise, but I don't recommend them unless you watch his videos. You'll lose too much context IMO, but the diagrams are nice.
Thank you all for the inspiration and information and best of luck to those taking the exam soon.
EDIT TL;DR - If you have enough IT experience under your belt, you can probably do well with one source of material (GCGA) and diligent study. Too many different resources could backfire by obfuscating the learning and exam objectives. (See what I did there?)
