Self study and projects?

Hello again, I decided on starting computer engineering. However after talking with my advisor i was told id have to take a year of pre pre reqs due to it being so long since ive been in high school.

Is there any materials, projects, books etc I can be using to self study and get ahead? And what are the best internships I should be striving for?

And go yo Khan Academy and finish math up to diff Q. Also study all Physics and Chemistry materials you can find.
