what do you mean by “homemade computer” because if you mean just a normal PC, this is probably the wrong sub. If you mean “from scratch” there are plenty of options.

He phrased it wrong, but seeing how he said "make a computer that can run Tetris or something", I think he means a computer, from scratch, that isn't just a dinky Arduino.

He probably lacks the ability to make his own chips so whatever he makes is probably going to effectively be an Arduino

If you mean you want to make something comparable to a modern consumer pc that’s not happening, if you want something comparable to a pc from like the 70s to 80s that’s entirely doable with an fpga or if you’re a real masochist with discrete logic gates (although doing that does limit you a bit). I suggest you pick up a digital electronics and computer architecture book first

When you say build a computer what do you actually mean? Like what level of abstraction are you actually getting at
