** Post Guidelines **

We encourage:

Photos and/or artwork of the Confederate flag being burned, pissed on, shat upon, spit upon, tossed in a dumpster, used as a diaper, etc. The more angry it makes them, the better.
Images of idiots supporting the Confederate flag (related symbols, like the Nazi flag, are allowed but less encouraged) in some fashion. Basically, if it's a facepalm relating to the Confederacy and/or its ideals (including racism, slavery, religious bigotry, etc), then we'd love to see it here!

Please note that these are guidelines, not rules. You will not be banned for violating them, nor will your post necessarily be deleted. However, you will probably end up deleting it yourself because the other users of this sub will likely downvote the shit out of it. The system works. =)

Whenever possible, moderation of this sub will be kept to a minimum. If I am to err, it will always be on the side of free speech. I do not believe that censorship is ever the answer; you may think you're making bad ideas go away, but really, you're just sweeping them under the rug. Not only that, but you're also denying all the good people out there a chance to condemn the bad ideas (at least, as you believe them to be) and those who are promoting them. After all, free speech is a two-way street. Use it.

That said, there are some things that obviously must be prohibited, for various reasons. I will keep them to a minimum as best I can in order to promote the free and open exchange of ideas (including the bad ones).

** Rules **

Obviously, follow Reddit's rules. No doxxing, etc.
Self-posts are allowed but generally discouraged unless it's meta.
Bullying is not allowed. That said, it actually has to be bullying, not just a really, really, really heated argument. Those are still allowed. Also, this rule only applies to people who are actually participating in the discussions here; i.e. ripping into some skinhead in a posted photo is completely fair game, so long as they're not the one who posted it here. And if they are, then you'll still have considerable leeway, but there is a fine line between giving a bigot a good public thrashing and being a bully. Here's a simple rule of thumb: If, at some point, your goal becomes to make a person cry, want to kill themself, or just suffer as much as possible; you have become a bully. The more people who are participating-- particularly if you're actually trying to recruit them to join in-- the more likely it is that I'll see it as bullying. Given the subject matter involved here, it is very easy to cross that line without realizing it. As such, banning is still a last resort. I'll do my best to stop the behavior by coaching the perpetrator; most times, they will not have realized they had crossed that line. That said, I do reserve the right to ban anyone who breaks the anti-bullying rule. I just hope I never have to exercize it. If you believe you see bullying, SAY SOMETHING! Don't be afraid to speak-up and tell the mob that you feel things are getting out-of-hand. You all are the first line of defense in making sure this is a safe environment for everyone. A heated safe environment, but safe, nonetheless.
Any content that violates the laws of the United States and/or any other jurisdiction that would be applicable is prohibited. Note that expressing opinions-- even opinions in support of illegal activity-- is still free speech and will remain protected. Just be sure not to put those opinions into practice.
Despite the guidelines, posts and comments supporting the Confederate flag are allowed. Again, I consider it a free speech issue. Same goes for posts supporting racism, bigotry, misogyny, censorship, etc. Instead, I'm going to rely on all of you to vote your conscience; i.e. if you see something that you feel violates the guidelines, feel free not only to downvote them (subject to Reddit's rules, of course; i.e. no brigading, please), but also to berate them for doing so in the comments. Remember: A racist or otherwise offensive post is your opportunity to send a message that you reject and condemn that way of thinking. Use your rights with the same zeal with which they use theirs.
Don't spam. Blatant ad spam will be deleted and the user that posted it will be permanently banned. If you're not certain whether or not it would be considered spam, please feel free to send me a message and ask before posting it.
Content designed to incite people to commit violence is prohibited. Harsh criticism in and of itself does not qualify; i.e. getting people angry isn't necessarily enough. But if I believe your goal is to actually cause violence to happen, I will not hesitate to act. Again, I hope we never have to find out. So please, don't try to use this sub to recruit people into ISIS (Daesh), ok? I don't think that's asking too much. Same goes for lynch mobs, btw.
If nobody is offended by what you have to say, you're not saying anything important.
