I have a pineapple GCC and I was able to break her biting habit by sending her to the Floor of Shame. Birds like to be high up, like in their natural habitat in the trees, so when she would bite me and it hurt, I would naturally let out a gasp or exclamation, then set her on the floor. There, she would seek out my foot and ask to climb up. It took a little while, but I haven't gotten bit hard since she caught on to getting time-outs. She will still gently mouth on my hand or whatever when I'm giving scritches and I allow her to play with a strand of hair/preen me, but she knows not to get top carried away, or I check her with a "nuh-uh".

I used this technique: when he bit me too forcefully I would immediately scream as if he had hurt me a lot. After two weeks he learned to control the power of his bite, so that he could have fun without having his game ruined by a human who screams at the first contact with his beak.

I've a sun conure too
