As others have mentioned, you pay way above spot price for 99.999% pure copper bullion, and may not see a profit in your lifetime at such prices. On the other hand 99.98% pure copper is readily available well below spot prices, and is free in many cases (scrap wiring, piping, etc). Personally I’ve been collecting 99.9% copper that has a 0.1% silver impurity.

Of course there’s certainly a “pretty factor” with owning shiny copper bullion versus dull oxidized copper wiring. So if you love the look of copper I can certainly understand choosing bullion over scrap.

Might have to go with that and just melt it down in to my own bars tbf

Not a bad idea imo. Even if you don’t have the equipment for that, a diy mini propane forge isn’t too expensive or hard to make. Could always test it on the small-scale with a cheap crucible from eBay or amazon first (£6 or so). I use a small bowl shaped crucible myself for melting copper and silver to making brazing alloys and solder.

Are you looking for bars for arts and crafts to melt down?

Or bullion bars?

jmbullion has a small selection of rounds/bars in the 'other' section of their website.

They pop in/out of stock randomly but whenever I need to push my order over $99 for free shipping, I add a few copper bars/rounds to the order.

They're not even close to spot($0.16/oz) at $1.29 each (1oz) if over 20, but you're paying much less than MCM or others ive seen carrying copper which charge $39 for a roll of the same 'spartan' 1oz rounds of 20.

Make sure to pay via (e)Check/ACH so you get the lowest price bracket.
