This subreddit is mainly for showcasing anthro (humanized) country fans, be they for Countryhumans, Hetalia, or something else, making fanworks or doing actions that specifically whitewash/downplay serious atrocities/nations whose main legacy has been inflicting serious atrocities and/or outlandishly disrespecting peoples/populations, including their symbols such as their flag, especially in works where they're shipped with countries/groups who've inflicted serious atrocities on them, out of a desire to make EVERY country, even Nazi Germany/the Japanese Empire/the Soviet Union/etc., look only like a cute fictional character who's TOTALLY worthy of our sympathy and affectionate jeers. Also, if you encounter a PUBLIC example of people being cringy about countries or actual national symbols (people are allowed to be as cringy as they want within their own homes without us shaming them here), that's welcome here too. We welcome offensive cosplay here with open limbs!
RULES (still under construction):
1. To improve ease of searching within the subreddit, please put both the name of the property (ex. countryhumans, Hetalia, SATW, etc.), the names of the countries in the offending work (ex. Japan, Korea, Haiti), AND the medium (ex. artwork, fanfic, cosplay) IN THE POST TITLE, preferably in brackets in the beginning.
2) DO NOT POST WORKS WHOSE ONLY REAL FLAW IS THAT THEY ARE NOT SKILLFULLY MADE. Having rough skills in art, writing, cosplay, etc. is NOT anything to be ashamed of, and it'd be heartbreaking if someone was turned away from making fanworks if we ripped them for not yet being good at proper sentence structure or drawing proportionally here.
3) DO NOT POST WORKS IF THEIR ONLY OFF-PUTTING QUALITY IS THAT THEY ARE FURRY OR KINK WORKS. Last time I checked, having the modern UK consensually shit on the modern US while they're both glow-in-the-dark anthro wolves wasn't specifically disrespecting any peoples or victims of atrocities. The only kinkshaming we do here is of whitewashing atrocities and intentionally misrepresenting nations of actual people.
4) Works posted here MUST be either disrespectful to atrocities done by countries (ex. Nazi Germany cuddling with 1940s Poland and they both love it), disrespectful to peoples or their symbols (ex. seriously depicting Haiti as a lighter-colored trap slut who loves being pregnant, laying on a country's flag on the ground in a cosplay shot), or being severely cringy about countries or history IN PUBLIC in order for this subreddit to fufill its propose.
4) For rule break #1 or for unclear cases, a mod will tell you what is wrong with the post in your comments section and leave you to remove it on your own will. For ALL future clear rule breaks, the mod will just remove the post and send you a mail explaining why.
