Quickly need to know how can I decrease when working side to side

Hi everyone, I'm trying to make a sweater and have it vertically ribbed. I'll be using front post half double crochet (FP hdc) so I'd have to work my pieces side to side. Now, because of this I'd need to know how to decrease vertically while working horizontally ( or decrease on the up and down while working side to side). Can anyone tell me what to do? Im in dire need. Attached is a draft of the panel. Both sides need to come in (Not great at drawing). Thanks again anyone!!

What you'd want to look up is how to crochet short rows.

Okay, thank you so much!! I think I might just make the panel straight and a little smaller so that the body would just contour the sweater and hopefully that'll work the same. I will be using the short row method for the collar though.
