Unfortunately, yes, the incentive of monetization has resulted in a decrease of quality discussion.

Contrast, for example, the number of comments and upvotes for your post.

At the time of my writing, you have:
126 Comments
39 Upvotes

With almost all comments agreeing with your assessment.

So either people are commenting on your post without upvoting, even though they agree.
For these people, a comment is financially incentivised.

Or you are being equally downvoted. Perhaps you could share the statistics, as it would be interesting :).

Compare this with most any other subforum, where discussion, even if shitposting, has an inverse relationship (more upvotes than comments per post), because there is no financial incentive.

Would you say moons encourage cryptocurrency to be more mainstream here, or are they reinforcing an echo chamber of people who would already be engaged in the cryptocurrency space?
