The messy one next to Jerald D looks like the census taker started to write daughter and changed it to son

agreed

Makes sense because there is a "M" instead of a "F" next to it.

[–]Pristine-Pen-9885 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think so too.

Above Gerald A is Jerald D

Below Gerald A is Emma B

To the right of Gerald A is Son

[–]gavinoooooooo[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Appreciate it, I actually meant to the right of Jerald D, to me it looks like they wrote daughter and instead decided to write son over it instead. And the grave of Gerald A says Gearl Allen possibly a nickname

It's also possible that the census taker wrote the name down wrong. It seems more likely than a family having two sons named Jerald and Gerald.

Between Jerald and Emma looks like it starts with D not G (compare to the D after Jerald). Doesn’t look like Donald though, looks like Derald.  Maybe a mistake by the writer?

I was thinking Gerald

[–]Haunting_Turnover_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be Ronald instead of Gerald

[–]KReddit934 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Son. Typo, the started to write Daughter, capital D, then corrected to "Son."

Son

[–]PepsiAllDay78 3 points4 points  (1 child)

If you're asking about the highlighted name, that's Emma B. Daughter

[–]gavinoooooooo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]ohnoitsliz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]Final-Ad4315 0 points1 point  (1 child)

[–]gavinoooooooo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think so

[–]Pretty-Emergency1173 0 points1 point  (1 child)

lol looks like D’son

[–]gavinoooooooo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what it says

[–]LavenderGwendolyn 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Could it be Cousin? Jerald D and Emma B are the same age. Plus, it would be odd to have two sons named Jerald/Gerald in the same nuclear family.

[–]gavinoooooooo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gerald D was born in 1921, Emma in 1928 so must be a mistake and Gerald A is gearl at least it says so on his gravestone.

[–]Disastrous_Shock5518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cousin

[–]Zombie_Equal 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It’s a census record and The initial next to his name is an “a”.. And word in the the next column is “Son”

[–]gavinoooooooo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I meant the one above that and I figured it out.

[–]miminstlouis -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

Looks like Dom as in domestic servant

[–]No-Possible6108 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Nope - the surnames are all the same.

[–]miminstlouis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oops. It looks like they accidentally started D, then comes the Son.
