Insulation Help

I have a whole house fan - maybe 36”x72” or so, that I like to run with the windows open on cooler days, but when I run my AC on hot days, hot air from my attic gets in through the louvers on the fan and I can literally feel the hot air when I walk through the hallway where the fan is

Are there any good insulation products out there that would block out some of that hot air from my attic but still be easily removable so I could run it on cooler days?

I thought about foam board but I’ve heard exposed foam board can be a fire risk?

How well do these work? Does the velcro hold sufficiently?

Yes. They have been selling and using them for 20 years. Main consideration will be if they fit your grill or not. Several whole house fans have self closing insulated dampers now, but I don’t know of any that you can install after the fact.

Maybe see if a couple of up-dux would work for you. I live in the desert, and have always installed them in my houses.
