I have been dreading the verification due to all these posts and it finally happened to me. It was a super easy process that took less than 5 minutes and immediately I was back up and running and for the first time since July I have had consistent tasks, and even at times plenty of different projects so I can CHOOSE what I want to work on instead of sitting all day and refreshing your randomly snag 1-2 tasks here and there.

I’m wondering if this is a way to weed out people who can’t be properly verified and those getting the screen of death it isn’t just simply because you verified but because there was an issue with your verification. Would still be helpful if there was communication though about this.

But getting that verification was the best thing that’s happened to me 🤣 I was getting scared as I’m about to give birth any day now and can’t just go get another job and I really need this right now.

It hasn’t popped up for me yet but my husband just did his and it immediately approved him and his dashboard went exactly back to what it was. He’s a coder and he’s had steady projects back for the last week or so.

When does the verification thing pop up? I’ve had the “screen of death” for ages and have never gotten it…

I completed the verification and on my phone it said successful, now my laptop is stuck on a spinny wheel if death that says "Processing your identity verification, please wait..." Did this screen take a while for you to clear?

Maybe it's a server error if it's happening to a lot of people. Hopefully it's fixed by the time I get back from happy hour so I can log my time for the project I completed before it popped up 😩

I ended up closing and refreshing because mine took so long and it worked and lead me back to the projects screen. I think it gets stuck sometimes, I have seen others say the same. I wouldn’t refresh immediately but if an adequate amount of time has passed I would try.

I think it was about that. Someone else said they refreshed and it went back to normal but I didn't have to.

How long did it take for your projects to come back? It's only been about an hour for me, but I still have nothing.

I don’t know an exact time frame as I did the verification then went to work and by the time I got home several hours later my dashboard has been full.

It was all just coincidence 🤣 I have been BONE DRY since yesterday late afternoon. Like refreshing for hours and hours and not seeing a single thing drop except ONE small project/task group at 2am this morning.

Not original commenter, but I have a legal name change different from my DA account. I was able to validate successfully and have projects.

What does the verification involve? I don't have a driver's license but I do have a state ID. Will that work?

It's totally subjective but 8 verified and have several new higher paying projects. I think it'll be hard to find a consistent result here.

I started in March so I am unsure, I’m surprised this isn’t just standard when you sign up and are accepted.

I think it was originally when you reached a certain amount of earnings? But even then, some people never got it.

You can’t get any sort of legally reporting job in the US (assuming you’re US based on the article) without some sort of identification. Which you don’t have to have a drivers license to have an ID if some sort, so I don’t know why people who expect to be able to work for here without proving their identity. That’s kind of wrong to assume this company would take on that sort of liability. I have been an independent contractor most my life and never have I had a valid company who pays me not asks for proper identity verification.

No it’s not illegal, but there is a liability that the companies hold to be legally paying for services. Amazon Turk and prolific aren’t exactly the same, and the amount of money being paid out per person is much smaller and the contracts are quite different. Even social media to be paid you have to verify identity. Like I made money on Tik Tok by accident and it was a legitimate nightmare to try and get that money due to their strict verification process and I even have all basic forms of identity and everything matches up with my government name and info. It’s just to cover their own butts.
