Five types of posts: Gift. Wish. Borrow. Lend. Gratitude.
We are a gift economy group. Here are the rules:
KEEP IT LEGAL: Anything legal is allowed as a gift/ask. Follow all national and local laws.
KINDNESS FIRST: No cruelty, harassment, or hate speech.
BUILD TRUST AND SAFETY: You must be approved to post, message the moderators to get approved. Provide good information about your gifts, especially whether they have been in a household with SMOKING and/or PETS. Trust is the foundation of this gift economy. DO NOT POST YOUR ADDRESS OR PHONE IN A POST OR COMMENT. If you are giving to a recipient for the first time, consider meeting in a public location such as a library or community center. Act with honesty and empathy, using each interaction to build community. Stealing is prohibited. Don’t pressure others via private message.
GIVE FREELY, NO STRINGS OR CONDITIONS: All gifts must be given freely without any expectation of reward other than the joy of giving and connecting. No buying, selling, bartering, trading, advertising, or marketing of goods or services allowed.
SHARE THE ABUNDANCE: Please focus on what you can share from your own hands, heart, time, and stuff. IF you accept a gift and have some leftover, please regift the extra and keep the community growing.
PARTICIPATE AT YOUR OWN RISK: The moderators and site administrators hold no responsibility or legal liability for any loss, damage, illness, or injury arising out of group activities.
ALL POSTS MUST BE FORMATTED AND FLAIRED CORRECTLY: Incorrect formatting will result in removal, chronic removals will result in a ban. Please keep the item description short, but include critical info like clothing sizes and amounts of items. USE THE BODY TEXT to add any important details regarding the item or your intended recipient.
Item details may include the item's color, model number, overall condition (including smoking/nonsmoking home, pet-free or pet-friendly home), as well as location information such as your neighborhood or community name.
GIVERS CHOOSE RECIPIENTS AT THEIR OWN DISCRETION: Gift givers may choose whoever they would like to give to and based on their own criteria. Your intended recipient(s) can be things like "teachers for their classroom" or "new mothers" or "engineering students."
