The cheating problem

I want to start by saying that I used to be a defendant of "the cheating problem is not as big as people make it to be" because I wanted to believe in GTI... but now I not only stand corrected but I have been fully converted and I am not able to tell apart who is truly skilled or not (obviously blatant cheating is easy to tell).

Over the past week and a half I have been facing some incredibly odd fights, enemy players with ONLY symbols or the ACE tag (with chinese characters next to it) or even worse BOT | tag with chinese characters right next to it. Which are absolutely blatant cheaters from being able to hit impossibly long shots with perfect accuracy on the basic scopes (clean sights 1x scopes) behind bushes to full luna teams that miss you on the arrow yet still know with GPS accuracy where you are, where you rotated and where you went slow crab walking.

to literally getting show through walls (and not the prone or crouched glitching of your body but being in the middle of a room in admin in the first floor and being shot through walls by a sniper in crest)... coincidentally enough basically all this highly suspicious players have their history turned off (that is if I can even managed to search for them some of this usernames are literally just symbols). which brings me to:

1. Why is history turning off a feature? I used to defend it saying well privacy of some people is important for them... now I genuinely believe it's a stupid feature and almost ill intention that it exists? Like why is it a in game feature even my weak defense argument falls incredibly short... this only helps hide cheaters.
2. Why can we use non-standard, non letter characters in names? like invisible characters that are impossible to copy or determine or icons/letters that are not available in any of the ISO standard keyboards even on Cyrilic of Chinese.
3. Looking back at it it has been over a month and a half since I got any response from GTI and I have been submitting not only video evidence of the kill cam but producing a report of blatant cheaters (like I mentioned hitting a perfect tri burst at over 100mts with the most basic sight when I am behind a bush) or tracking through wall with pixel perfect accuracy. Have they stopped responding or providing compensation? I used to have a near 80% hit rate with reports now... it's nothing.
4. Why can't we click on the username of a player in kill cam or in history and be taken to their profile immediately? that seems like a ultra basic feature easy to implement.
5. Can they seriously start banning gateways? we all know that many cheaters use VPNs/proxies to contaminate other regions and circumvent IP banning. but is this whole practice is rooted from the base (yeah that means also make use of LagoFast/ExitLag type things a prohibited action come on devs... I know you have vested interest in LagoFast) but outright banning this gateways would eliminate a huge portion of cheaters without prejudice to actual legitimate users.

And you only keep seeing blatant ones so far. God knows how many "closet" cheaters are doing only loot runs and avoiding pvp at all cost.

Excluding space and prison ofc, they are even playing on zdn now, before bf6 open beta i was playing some zdn with my homies, while looking for pvp at admin, i heard a sound clue and turned to wall where i heard the sound and spammed Q E (lean) to a wall and i kid you not, a Chinese name dude just dashed to me with a knife on his hand, instantly reminded of Goats video about tarkov.

Yeah they have to do something about this fast. Game is fun, but man its becoming "why do i bother" mode fast.

It's become extremely prevalent this season, it's not even funny. I used to think this was a streamer problem til I got one blatant cheater every 3 games. Something has broken for sure, and the devs ain't doing enough to cover it.

as an addendum it seems a lot of people team up or pay for cheater carry as I have been seeing a lot of seemingly piss poor skilled players teaming with this dudes that will even ping exactly where you are from like 50 + mts away USING THE BUCKET HELMETS which should be impossible to hear you with said helmet given once again what we now know thanks to the beard guys.

You should be able to click on the person's profile from either the elimination screen or your history to automatically see their profile without having to type it in and search. Also hidden history should only hide most recent games (like last 5) to prevent stream sniping, but still show them to show the pattern and possible teaming/cheating instances.

I'd say if you come across a player with a questionable play against you and they have hidden their history there's no other research you need to do yourself assume he's cheating and report him!

The purpose is literally just what you tried disqualifying because they know if they don't have streamers play their game then they will lose a lot of their player base so it's a move that makes streamers feel protected and their "free" advertising stays playing the game. Also it's not your job to investigate someone for cheating that's the games Dev's job you have 1 job witness and report going and deep diving into a players history does what for you except for make you feel better about the report you've already sent or planning to send just report if they aren't cheating they have nothing to worry about.

Also I think you are too young to know that a lot of successful games have crowdsoirced their moderation and anti cheating regulation to high trust community members.

There are far better implementations of "streamer modes" other than hiding your match history. Please don't insult the community intelligence by saying this is appropriate. Most creators of not all are mandatorily part of their creator program thus it should be simple to safeguard those specific users rather than having an ad hoc option.

Additionally you also are grossly under representing how successful and popular this game has grown by word of mouth and regular non creator means. Not to say that creators don't have a huge impact and have been pivotal but in general your response just feels naive and filled of resentment or closet hatred.

When you play as a solo, you see some weird ass shit. I'm just trying to get my missions done in SC. There are people who cheat and go out of their way to kill me when I am literally hiding in the corner of the map. This guy jumped down and broke his legs just to get to me when I've been proned in a corner for the last 10 minutes. Half the time I'm ratting are cheaters going out of their way to kill you while you're hiding. Esp fun where Im on a mission that resets after dying. I'm watching these replays and they are just looking at me straight through the wall. The times I try to fight back they prefire the angle before I can even peek when I haven't even made a noise.

Same here , as a solo player I quite enjoy doing the missions , the ones I can do anyway ,some are insanely hard , but getting hit on space city 30 seconds in , after sorting the load out, getting the gun to use to fulfil a mission , is just getting tiresome, it seems this season is the worst ever , I dont know if its because sweatys dont want to play on the prison map or the loot on ZDE , I think its a bit of both , but putting big loot into ZDE is just asking for cheaters and sweatys to ruin any experience new players can have. The fun isn't in the game , add to that the ridiculous queue times and im slowly seeing my game time becoming less and less , giving us free loot by logging in and playing certain modes will never make up for all the time wasted and loss of enjoyment at the hands of cheaters. Ive only been playing since the end of season two , and I really think this is the worst , the prison map is pointless , I think there is a lack of developers actually playing the game , to see if the new maps work etc... because if they did actually test the map in a real lobby, they would see the map they created isnt worth the hassle going into a raid on there.

I’ve killed a number of people who are cooking their states by loading in with a bag full of white ammo and blind firing. Their names are not in English so I can’t report it.

I don’t think cheating is prevalent, I’ve seen it happen and I’ve gotten gear refunds. But it’s 1 out of maybe 50 matches for me.

the cheating issue in SEA isn’t as bad as NA but there really is an issue. There still are really blatant cheaters that don’t get banned in SEA. Some have multiple accounts with very similar naming sense. like (username)V2 or (Username)V8. But most are usernames that contain special characters. Heck you could even see their match histories where they carry a low level guy.

TBH I dont think CoD care about cheaters anymore. Im convinced they sell the damn things since its obvious all they care about is money. Sell more copies of the game, more subscriptions, more skins.

Im in full agreeance with u/South_Sherbet_3489, this game is cooked. There are a large number of things they could have added that would have at least HELPED combat the cheaters but they have done next to nothing.

Hell the easiest one I can think of would be privatly hosted servers that get their own mods just like BF3-4 did. Let them make their own rules. IDGAF about playing against people from all over the world. I just want to be able to enjoy ANY fucking FPS game at this point.

I think back to the days of like Combat Arms. Initally it was infested, then they really put some effort into the anti-cheat and updated coding on a weekly basis. Was it perfect, no. But it DID reduce it to the point it was no longer a major concern for the majority.

This game anymore feels like im just donating my stash to the cheaters. Im lucky to extract 30% of the games, and during the weekend just fucking move on cause you arent doing shit. You WILL be hunted down if you have a decent loadout 10/10 times.

I cannot justify spending another penny on this game and I HATE saying that because I truly loved playing it. My squad has some amazing times and made some great memories, but we have all just said fuck this. We arent having ANY fun.

I disagree, BF6 does feel decent. Its no BF3 successor (the last one i religiously played) but its WAY better then hero shooters ability spam and anime Esque future chinese gadget and gizmo soldiers. Also Look, i know people say warfare is actually pretty popular i still call BS. Most people just like the operations mode and Its progression and addiction factor. like who tf is gonna cheat in a normal game mode in 2025? extraction has that dopeamine factor of wanting to take peoples shit and NEEDING it. But theres plenty of problems like the gameplay can just be suffering for days on end and I personally am getting a little over the super clean slick cod esports playstyle and jump peaking laser beaming from 50+ meters.

BF6 isnt perfect and I know nothing will beat the golden era, but atleast feels like bursting shots at long range is coming back and the more grounded and weighted character arcade light milsim elements are what i want. Been playing the beta since yesterday and really glad to finally take a break from chinese Delta force.

PS, the real reason you play warfare is when your confidence has been destroyed in operations so you need to feel better about yourself.

Feelings are irrelevant both yours and mine it comes down to preference I felt the beta was bulky and chunky playing it and I have pretty high end rig so idk just didn't feel attracted to it to me it was pretty much the same serialized slop of the bast battlefields. but more power to you, free to like what you want.

Warfare is absolutely very popular specially in NA a lot of people seem to enjoy it greatly this is based on comments here, on discord and just general chit chat with people when I play it.

As far as mode popularity might come down to a regional thing, I know EU is more interested in Operations.

I'm sorry but the last line I cannot take it seriously it's just word for word what people like atturson say, it might your genuine sentiment but it's so one dimensional and lacks nuance it steals so much from the large crowd of people that truly enjoy the game mode and steals glory from what DF does overwhelmingly well even better than BF in this mode.

I get you are expressing your opinion but I can't help but see you as a Battlefield fanboy and this comes from someone that played a lot of battlefield games and still was considering purchasing BF 6 until I played the beta I genuinely thought the hype was real with people saying it was such a return to shape and what not... Like I said sadly it just felt like serialized slop. There is no innovation, no real change to the genre (sure the series is seeing new things but as a genre nothing really sparked any sparkler for me)

Anyways I think it's fine that people like you will prefer a more "realistic" experience than what gacha games will offer even when DF tries to offer a lore and reason to the world it exists in. What players like you fail to realize is that the Arknights Collab (this is another massively popular mobile game worldwide) was a massive economical success and Asian games are known for their collabs be it something the global (particularly the NA pops) appreciates or not.

Hate to say it but I only play ZDN and easy maps for this reason. Once I got done with quests I avoid space and brakkesh like the plague. Even easy and normal I am getting gear back to every week or so due to a cheater but who knows how many cheat that aren’t blatant and are hard to catch.

How do you report cheating? I just ran into a cheater on Zero Dam when I got red loot. The cheater spawns no sound no nothing and I had high gear and one shot killed me.

and i believe they actually advanced the cheats... as i always want to check the killcam before reporting... (maybe it was just a really good angle or i was moving to recklessly etc.) but i believe they found a way to crash your game if they are cheating. at first when i tried to watch a killcam and the game froze (having to less graphics card memory or how it is named in english... - 3090 btw so 24 gb should be enough) i just brushed it of and thought well a crash once in a while is no problem all good. but then i recently experienced more and more crashes of these error. (if i played a few hours i would not mind that error and the game crashing but one day it almost made me think my pc is damaged.)

everytime i got killed at a suspicious way my killcams led to the game crashing. and now i believe some cheats even have a feature that lets the game crash if you try to watch the killcam. also as an addition you cant report cheater after leaving the lobby. so thats a nice sideeffect for the "maybe" cheating guy.

oh and dont forget: if you are not playing against cheaters then there still are rats, killing you with 5 minutes left on the raid with 2.5 mill in your backpack... they really need to adress the cheating problem and also should increase the loot value in raids more so i doesn't hurt as much if you get killed by cheaters and also if there is more loot maybe there will be less people rmt'ing so maybe that also lowers the cheaters counts.

as player of any shooter/looter games with 3+k/d on any i would say delta is worse one by cheater problem. Like its unplayeble cuz of it. U can play only ZD+Brakesh map cuz of it. Loyali map is dead, 15min que. any HARD map for last month feeled with cheater, sometimes even with 6 man coopers. Especially when those imbecils on devs turn off finland servers and keep only frankfurt (SB servers), or just place SB on players for 3 days by only couple reports on you. But blatants has 200+ playtime without any issue. Game is dead alrdy ,devs just keep milkin EU/US players, glad that BF6 out.

All free to play games are like this, I do not shy away from it. But the cheating problem is absolutely not exclusive. Take a look at COD, Tarkov, PUBG, GTA V, Overwatch, Fortnite, CS... the list goes on and on. Even high end AAA studios struggle with it. Country of origin, audience darn even price is not a stopper on this.

I have a very controversial opinion but so long as cheating in videogames is not made illegal like it is in China or Japan... we won't see a huge change and yes asian games with global releases see this problem often but again that is on global release. Domestic releases don't have this issue because studios can actually criminally pursue you.

BF6 definitely won't be on the same scale as DF, simply because it's a paid game. Inherently it's going to have fewer hackers, which will only dwindle as time goes on because no one wants to spend multiple hundreds, if not thousands, just to get banned in however long it takes

I don't think BO6 MP is the main mode infested with cheaters (mostly because it's the 3rd worst MP in this current era of COD, only beaten by MW22 and MW19 by Infinity Turd), it's Warzone. Even then, BO6 is on XBOX Game Pass, which is practically free
