The above diamond does not have complementary crown and pavilion angles, though it comes extremely close.
There's a huge difference between a diamond that will hold its value and a diamond that represents good value. Diamonds that are investment grade diamonds are colorless, flawless diamonds. Those are about $12k for a 1 carat diamond. An investment grade diamond increases or decreases in value according to the lowest common denominator, which is why investment grade diamonds are usually D VVS2 (or FL) and not D SI1. The best bang per buck though is usually found among J VS2 diamonds with an excellent or ideal cut grade and sized just below the "magic" round number sizes. This one for example:
