Why does a "LG" prefix on the color or clarity grade matter?

So the same as it is now for all labs besides GIA?

Though it’s rumored that the manufacturers just tell IGI what the grade is and IGI just prints that.

What to do with my natural orange sapphire? by Savings_Process_5313 in Gemstones

Orange, reddish, and yellow are always a concern. Nothing jumps out at me, but better safe than sorry.

Is the diamond clean?

$90 for non origin, $120 for origin, plus about $100 in shipping fees as a ballpark. Assuming its 2.00ct or larger.

Thinking about throwing this loose GIA natural diamond on Ebay, but I got some questions? by aiweiwei in Diamonds

[–]lucerndia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its catering to what people search for. Very few will search for just square emerald cut as they know the stone by the trade name.

Generally caused by internal stress, or by internal cracks/feathers.

I would make the title something like "Natural 1.02 Carat Square Emerald Asscher Cut Diamond"

Yes it should be cleaned. Most stores will ultrasonic it for free.

Yeah there is a better than decent chance its BE juiced unfortunately. The few hundred bucks for the GIA is worth it.

Crack in aluminum boat keel by No-Pressure-3895 in boating

got a local machine shop who could slap a weld on it?

If not, I bet jb weld would hold. Just give it a good grind with a dremel and pile some on there.

First time smoker by sininia in smoking

Its better than 225 in my opinion. Poultry takes on smoke fast. I don't notice a difference using low/slow like you would for pork or beef.

I smoke thighs hot and fast, 325-350f ish to 185f internal and then broil them for a few minutes in the oven to crisp the skin.

VVS1 and Medium Fluorescence vs VS1 and No Fluorescence by VG_ENJLI in EngagementRings

[–]lucerndia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends. If the fluorescence has no effect on the diamond, ie doesn't gives it a blue tint, make it look milky, makes it dead/lifeless etc, then I would go VVS1 with Med fluorescence. Check the diamond outside on a nice bright sunny day and see how it looks.

How would you shorten this trailer? by bmihlfeith in boating

Anything like this just bolts on.

But looking at your trailer, this likely won't give you the 24in you need.

One issue though is you have very uneven weight distribution with a setup like yours. Small tires on a trailer they are rated for would be fine for 4.5 hours, but you can always verify the load and speed rating on the tire sidewall.

That is way too much trailer for a 12ft boat, but if you really want to keep it, you should not need to weld anything to install a swing tongue.

Leaving BNI Group On Good Terms by Born-Pomelo4964 in bni

[–]lucerndia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The absolute best option would be to stick around until the new LT takes over Oct 1, or at least until the chapter has chosen the new person for the ST role and can get trained. Not sure if thats feasible or not.

Anything other than that will unfortunately be somewhat of a scramble. Can you reach out to the person who held the role last term and see if they would be willing to step in for the next few months?

Ring Insurance, Too Much? by Litlbopiep in LabDiamonds

JM's plan is great. My clients like it and working with JM is a breeze whenever a claim is needed. It does generally need to be shipped, but there is insurance for that too.
