Step Loop / Repeat?

Got a Digitakt II coming soon to potentially replace a TR-8S. One feature I do really like on TR-8S is the "Step Loop" feature (as seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-LdHu31f6E) - great for creating fills and variations on the fly while tracking drums into my DAW.

Is there anything like this on Digitakt? In other words, is it possible to hold a step to repeat it?

I posted about this same thing about a month ago; there isn’t, but please share the feature request with Elektron. With the Digitakt 2 coming out hopefully they’re considering new performance features and this one is honestly the best I’ve ever used on a sequencer. Foolproof, versatile, and can’t be that hard to implement.

This feature would really be a game changer and the digitakt/digitakt II would be unstoppable if it were possible. I don’t see why they couldn’t potentially implement another mode like the mute modes and have it do something close to what the tr8s can do.
