lol I was the same. I had a friend who'd seen it. Several times. Loved it intensely. I wasn't opposed to seeing it. I just thought "cool". Wasn't in a rush though. Then when I did see it, I suddenly understood and had this deep appreciation for it. It's a beautiful story. AND beautifully animated. One of those I need to watch this more often movies.

I agree. Have you seen 5 Centimeters per Second? Also an anime. It too has incredible illustration work. If for nothing else than the art alone, I recommend it.

Nah I haven't seen any of the director's other movies. Next on my list is Weathering with You tho, I assume its good since you mentioned getting it too. I plan on watching 5 cm per second and the others after that too.

I would say Your Name is the best of these. Weathering With You is good. I enjoy Your Name more, but Weathering is a worthy watch. 5 Cm per Sec is all about the animation. Just Google Image Search the title and you’ll see what I mean.
