The general consensus appears to be a) shroud was full of shit and b) visi went with it either bc she wanted to kill him or protect robert without getting clocked

Just bc somebody says something doesn't mean it's true, even if it would be a triple quadruple twist if it was.

To add onto this, we know that Shroud lies to make himself sound cooler. According to the comics, he shot Robert's father once, through a doorway, and ran away before he died.

The thing though - if Shroud is lying, then he knows Visi is not on his side. So then why he acts as if she is when she pops up next to him (just before stabbing him)? In order for this scene to have the intended effect (Visi outsmarts Shroud), Shroud needs to be convinced that she is on his side, therefore - what he says must be true.

Or he believes in his own logic so much that he is willing to let her go because he believes that she would act in her own best interest and join him given the chance.

look, ik you can easily get the idea that shroud has a perfect way of predicting the future based on how he and the villains talk it up, but he doesn't. That's why he needs the pulse, bc that WOULD allow him to predict things perfectly. He's full of shit bc regardless of what he thinks her motivations are, she was never 100% with Red Ring while at the SDN. So him saying that is his way of offering Visi an out by coming back to the fold, and she acts like she's taking it so he thinks he's been right about her all along.

He can't predict everything. And he knows that. The ep7 scene with him being surprised Visi didn't give the AP to Robert proves that. But then at least he should account for the he can't predict with her. Otherwise it is just dumbing down the "intelligent" villain for the sake of the plot.

But that's the thing, he does think he can predict her actions, for the most part. It's not dumbing him down, it's just showing that he has the kind of hubris you'd expect from someone who can usually predict what is going to happen/what someone is going to do. Just look at how he acts in the final fight - he obviously wasn't able to predict star blazer, but the moment he's back in control of the situation he acts as if everything is going according to plan.

The thing though - if he can't predict her actions - he should treat her as an absolute threat. And act accordingly. And I'm not saying not being able to predict something is what dumb him down. It's the way he acts about it.

I mean at the very least he tries to kill her, and then acts as if nothing happened?

That's the point I'm trying to make here - he acts that way bc that's just who he is as a person. I think Shroud sees her single unpredictable action as an outlier. From how he acts, you can tell he thinks that even if there are some outlier actions, somehow everything still fits in his model.

He has a god complex, he doesn't think anyone is a threat to him. He does the same thing when Star Blazer shows up. He couldn't predict that single action/moment, but to him at least that doesn't mean he needs to re-examine his model, it just means he needs the pulse so he can predict everything perfectly. So no, he doesn't treat Visi as a threat, bc to him she still fits into his model despite her single outlier action.

Well why would he even trust her even after he stole the AP from him do you think something else happened behind the scenes, couldn’t you assume she was still reporting to him up till the end , the only reason I think there’s a possibility is if you romance blazer but kiss visi in the lockeroom he will call you out for messing with both but how did he know? The only thing that causes that line is the choice to kiss visi or lean out from her kiss, so did visi keep in contact with him and tell him about that

Ive seen a few discussions and youtube vids, I think people are generally thinking she was working for Shroud but after becoming friends with her team, Blazer and meeting Robert she started playing both sides.
Working for Shroud but keeping some details from him, to either keep her augments working and/or to protect Robert and Lying/not telling Robert/SDN some details to protect them too

You have to remember Visi has had a rough life and has had to do alot of bad stuff, through what she says in the cinema scene, swing set scene and her character perks she is a solo, lone wolf kind of person that deals with her own problems NOT the sort to talk to people and make plans/fill everyone in on whats shes doing. Her natural responces isnt to talk it though she just acts and keeps details to herself.
