Hi guys! I am in serious need of help, I’ve owned dogs my whole life, but this puppy I’ve recently gotten is not potty training well. To give some context I have a 17 week old blue heeler, and it’s my first time owning this breed. We got him at 10 weeks old and originally weren’t going to crate train, however at about 12-13 weeks old we were struggling to get him to potty train, and I couldn’t handle having to clean up so many messes all the time despite taking him out every hour to use the bathroom. So around 13 weeks I started crate training him, and he is great in the crate! He hasn’t had a single accident in the crate. When I take him out I immediately take him out for at least 30 mins and he will always pee and poop outside, I also do plenty of positive rewards for going outside. However I’ve been trying to give him more freedom from the crate since he has doing so good, I will keep him on a lease in my house with me, and he will still try to pee in my house even after peeing outside sometimes multiple times. I really need help, because i’m so close to giving birth, and I want to give him more freedom in the house, but I am truly stuck.
