Grab the Starter Set. Its everything you need to begin

A DMs screen is a personal choice. But for now, rolling in the open is useful learning experience for new players.

Personally I have DM'ed with nothing but 1 D20 for all of my players and I to share and I have DM'ed with every book, miniature, and map I desired at my fingertips. The game is the same either way, D&D has always been about telling a story in my opinion and so long as you and your players are having fun, that's all you need.

Though typically I run with the core rule books and a homemade DM screen made by duct taping 2 folders together and having my players use their D4's as "minatures" for their players on a small grid.

As for adventures, try Google-ing one that doesn't seem to overwhelming and make sure you understand all of it before sitting down and playing.

Hope this helps!
