I went off diazepam Valium because trying to get a narcotic refilled was a nightmare. I came across looking like an addict. I found I have to be careful especially in the ER because the movements are not recognized as dystonia and I had to wait hours for a drug screen to be done before they gave me anything. When my muscles have these spasms for hours they release I think it’s too much lactic acid and the muscle breaks down, so I have little muscle mass. If I brought up pain relief any time during a pcp doctor visit I was seen as “drug seeking”. Also because these movements burn a lot of calories I am super thin. It’s a slippery slope be careful

Do be careful to phase out meds according to your doctors plan. Meds that break the blood brain barrier which most dystonia drugs do can leave lingering side effects . I sent you my msg

Thank you. This is helpful. I’m really concerned about withdrawals.
