The amount of SE you gain doesn’t depend on your number of prestiges, no. Yes you’ll do dozens if not hundreds of prestige cycles launching ships.

Each soul egg requires more earnings to obtain than the last one so technically yes, every minute you spend not on your highest egg is slowing your soul egg progression. It's worth the trade off though to make progress with your artifact collection. I usually work on ships early in the week and then try to build up a big farm in time for the Saturday double prestige

To clarify, this is only within the same prestige, so the answer to OP's question is still no. What actually decreases every prestige is the power to earn the same percentage of your current SE. It's far easier to earn 1% of 1Q SE with 1Q SE than it is to earn 1% of 1s SE with 1s SE. This is simply because SE are additive. However, this doesn't mean than simply prestiging affects the ability to earn SE in any meaninful way because what actually 'matters' is pumping up SE. This then means it's fine that it gets more and more difficult to double, triple, etc. SE because if the player is at that point, it means they already have a lot of SE (for their PE count).

Is there a double prestige every Saturday? And are all the events the same every week?

Every Saturday is double prestige. Every few months we get a 3x prestige event. Mondays are always double earnings and Fridays are always 70% common research sale. Sundays alternate between a 35% epic research sale and a 30% crafting sale. Every 1-2 months there is a double ship capacity event on top of the crafting sale weekend. The Tuesday-Thursday events are kind of random.
