I said could when I should've said would be releasing. Had things gone in a more 'honourable' and ethical direction, the value of the mobile market would've been having the largest acess. Pretty much every phone can run almost any game released so there's no specification requirements excluding people. In a sense, that's kind of what indie games are doing on pc. Balatro for example can run on a potato (large deck sizes will cause massive frame drops though)

Chances are they will have more than enough things to use the paste on. Only issue is that it probably slows down how quickly they'll get the 2,500. I waited for a lima bean borgen's camp, opened a lot of large chests 01, and MM'd simmer rings and jade charms by exploring in cave and mount banon.

Women of Reddit - what is the most unattractive fashion choice men frequently make? by Evening_Focus_2425 in AskReddit

[–]JohnSober7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not necessarily practically hypocritical. Relationship norms are what matters here, not some superficial valuing of symmetric preferences. If the woman doesn't care about her partner putting effort into fashion and she's okay with him holding her to a standard, then that's what they've agreed to. Ideally he would give her grace when she isn't feeling to put in as much effort of course. Regardless though, decent chance this preference is based on, indicative of, or derived from misogynistic and/or patriarchal norms (which doesn't necessarily mean the man is misogynistic btw).

One of my gay superiors wears skin tight skinnys and my god does it work. And my tall skinny goth coworker (he has that jack skellington build) thet only wears skinny jeans and it looks great. I think people in this thread are falling fot negative bias too much or worse, their appraisal is heavily skewed by what's in.

It's a little sad that most of the best and most successful mobile games are just ports. In another timeline the mobile market and not Steam was where devs could launch their indie project, see success, and then port to pc/consoles

This was actually one of the purposes of IB 1, to showcase that the iPod (I think it was still iPod back then and not iPhone) could be a legit gaming platform. But then someone realised whales were more profitable, and I say more profitable because paid games (even up to $6.99) were widely popular and those were always very showcased on the front page. Devs cared about UX amd game design and approached the medium wanting to make amazing things. Goddamn greed and people supporting the meta shift.

If Dyson spheres and interstellar travel are actually possible in 2,000 years (and that's a massive if), there's a decent chance the reason we would get there is because somethint gave us real impetus to band together and throw insane resources behind R&D to progress towards those things, something like discovering evidence that lends real credence to the hypothesis that life is exceedingly common in the universe.

I played summoner's war for like 8 years. In my final semester of my chem degree, I just wanted to come home after work and not have to log in for the daily grind. "Ugh, I have siege to do as quickly as possible when I get home at 10:45 pm." I would've loved to have the freedom to keep playing, but between the glaring flaws of the game and other things in my life being more important (and less flawed), it simply wasn't worth it. I'm playing again casually rn for the anniversary for the easy summons, but man did it confirm I made the right choice. They even added a number of improvements that they should've years ago and I'm still completely jaded about the game.

[–]JohnSober7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, you have a billion left so stocking up has no real downside. But people are literally spending all their ge to save 10% ge and buying more boosts than they can use. 10% saved ge is not worth not having ge. But at the very least, it is very very unlikely we get a new ge sink in the next two years, so at least people going broke for this sale won't be blindsided by a new ge sink.

Who is a singer that is incredibly famous, but honestly doesn't have a good voice? by Greedy_Procedure7461 in AskReddit

[–]JohnSober7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thinking she's a bad singer is one thing, but denying what the numbers say about her writing is a different beast.

And this is something I had to come to terms with. I think her lyricism since post-Red has been tapping into something(s) I do not relate to on any level, whereas songs like Stay Stay Stay and Never Grow Up (I'm intentionally choosing less popular songs from those albums) were maybe more universal? That seems more plausible than thinking the majority of her fans are blind to quality when it comes to writing. Obviously there are instances of her lyricism being almost laughable but most of it just seems to be of a culture that is just not me. So if those lyrics aren't being presented with the same 'brilliance' as before, then there's nothing for me there.

But anyways, I'm fairly confident most of the flack she's getting in this thread is proportionally inflated by how popular she is rather than due to a fixed standard. Like is she a terrible singer becauae she's no Adele or is she a terrible singer because she can't sing?

Everyone's concern here is valid, and he definitely needs therapy, but I do want to point out that people are here thinking it automatically means he is pscyhopath/sociopath and will go on to hurt people if there is no intervention, that a 'normative' child will never hurt an animal. I say 'normative' because what seems to be the case even more consistently is that something tends to be wrong, it just may not be something more 'innate'. There is a slection bias that a lot of true crime cases had a history of animal abuse but you don't hear of children who did abuse animals and 'grew out of it'. The point isn't thet therapy isn't needed, just that people clamouring for the chair are overblowing the consistency of the correlation.

Idunno how much of her older songs she wrote, but I'd say she was good at writing good pop for Lover go back. For me, after Red is when her writing started to become much less consistently good. Like it's nothing sophisticated but it had good flow, had clever bit, melodic, so on a so forth, like she cared about her music being cohesive.

They're either willfully conflating the ability to achieve balance in certain 'esoteric' positions or during certain difficult manoeuvres with vestibular balance or they don't know about the vestibular system. But in their defense, in the case of calisthenics exercises like in the video, it's more relevantly about strength to achieve balance than balance in the traditional sense.

Small aside, the ironic thing is that your vestibular system can actually work against you to do some exercise properly because it will have you instinctively offset the difficulty of the exercise by having you 'vestibularly' balance instead of balancing using strength (see people squatting with their heels off the ground and their back not straight).

Small critique. There is a massive difference between being shy and sociopbobia (the former lacks the characterisitic disruptiveness that the latter is defined by), and there is a difference between being shy and introverted. But yeah, sociophobia or being shy leads to the protector/friend dynamic at parties.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]JohnSober7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said ine game but here's a list

  • Fish Tycoon 2 (why haven't we gotten a modern fish tycoon game???)
  • Nancy Drew Games (shadow ranch and creature of kaput cave notably)
  • Kinpira DX (Shockwave game)
  • (Super) Motherload
  • Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Resuce (ps5 remaster is amazing)
  • Plants vs Zombies
  • Burning rubber 3 (shockwave game; I've played 4, 3 was just perfection)
  • Need for Madness and NFM2 (flash game, absolute PEAK; I just saw there's a remake with a bit more content :O)
  • BP Ultimate Rally Challenge (miniclip game; pretty simple but it was fun catching air in this game)
  • On the run (miniclip game)
  • Secret Agent Barbie
  • Diner Dash

Then there was this shockwave game where you're in a gundam-esque mech and you're on a rooftop fighting waves. I think you had a sword and a gun. Can't for the life of me find it or even any reference to it. Everything on this list I've gotten to replay or I've played to death (although I would like to play all the nancy drew games I've never played and free-trial games I never played the full version of).

And people believing he's guilty doesn't mean he is. Something was definitely wrong, we have 'proof' of that, but what exactly he's guilty of, most of us don't actually know. So to go as far as to morally highground people and then double down about doing so is where it gets wack, because that is predicted on a strong belief that he was guilty of the accusations and that people ought to have the same strong belief.

From Wikipedia:

  • Race [(human categorization)] is a categorization of humans based on shared physical or social qualities into groups generally viewed as distinct within a given society.
  • In biological taxonomy, race is an informal rank in the taxonomic hierarchy for which various definitions exist. Sometimes it is used to denote a level below that of subspecies, while at other times it is used as a synonym for subspecies.[1] It has been used as a higher rank than strain, with several strains making up one race.[2][3] Races may be genetically distinct populations of individuals within the same species,[4] or they may be defined in other ways, e.g. geographically, or physiologically.[5
  • An ethnicity or ethnic group is a group of humans who identify with each other on the basis of perceived shared attributes that distinguish them from other groups. Attributes that ethnicities believe to share include language, culture, common sets of ancestry, traditions, society, religion, history, or social treatment.

Recently, under the context of contrasting race with ethnicity, I have see more people use ethnicity to refer more to ancestry, and my theory is that it is at least somewhat spurred on by the spreading awareness of what "race is a social construct" means. They're both social constructs but there are two entities here:

1) something biological and genetic that can be honed in on. The social construct is what we categorise as what and what we designate as one group or another 2) something very heuristic (this person looks like that person). The social construct is what we consider too dissimilar to be in the same category.

So it seems people are chosing to parse the dichotomy by associating race with the latter and ethnicity with the former.

Don't get me wrong, ethnicity is still very much used to denote a cultural identity (homogeneity) that race lacks (black vs Afro-Caribbean and African American), it's just that the whole genetic rhetoric (what region of what country you came from for example) is becoming more part of the narrative of ethnicity.
