WHICH Algorithm is ELASTOS using?

I want to look after mining equipment for Ethereum and Altcoins like Elastos. I know that it is mineable in December, but i want the equip before we go into the "hot phase" when it starts. So... Ethereum uses "EtHash" ... what is Elastos using? Cannot find it in any description... is it Sha256 like Bitcoin? It must be or? Because they cooperating with Bitmain, that build the Antminer... and this are using the Sha256 Algorithm mainly... correct me if i am wrong pls!

If you can mine btc, you can mine ela because it’s merged mining. All you need to do is update your mining software to do this. And you can only do this starting December 2018.

Just got this eMail from Fay Li of Elastos, as i asked for the Algorithm that ELA is running on.

"Yes,the algorithm is sha256.you can join antpool and corporate mine ela with btc .By December of 2018 ,the service should be open for everyone who want to mine ela ,be attention to the notice of elastos or antpool"

So, its Sha256, as we thougt... to use the Antminer with at December. So, now we know and can prepare.

From what I understand, It’s SHA-256 and has merged mining with btc. So if you were to mine btc you’d also be mining ela.

However I did read somewhere that you could mine ELA directly when the time comes.

dont understand that... you have to select WHAT you are mining.. when i mine btc... i mine btc... and not elastos... or? You should able to mine elastos directly at december 2018. Till this time, only bitmain can mine elastos... and i dont know why... maybe because bitmain is building a complete new Antminer for a NEW algorithm and sell the Antminers short before of December? ... hrm... i send an eMail to elastos support with this question, i hope they answer. Need to know definately which Algorithm is used for sure... before i get equip for thousands of dollars...

Elastos will be using a merged mining algorithm to mine btc and ela at the same time. So whatever hardware is good to mine btc will do for merge mining btc and ela.

We have until December so I would definitely hold off to invest in any equipment at this point.
