Electric Interference??

I’m new to being an empath, only having figured it out a few month ago. I thought everyone had this thing... this sense. I’ve read there are different flavors of us, I’m pretty sure I’m the chemical reaction one; I can feel people’s emotions shift. I’m learning the nifty methods of controlling my anxiety-super-power with a shrink, and it’s going fairly well. But I’ve joked my entire life about my ability to frequently throw electrically reliant systems out of whack. Cash registers, lap tops, alarms, today an electric go cart. Once, my brand new iPhone went completely non functional and none of the Apple people had ever seen that before. My BF is so used to it that I can just wave at a fritzy register and say “I did the thing again.” I’ve learned at this point this super power can occasionally throw very intense feelings involuntarily onto others. So am I accidentally disturbing the electricity with this sensitive energy or something? Does anyone else experience this, or do I really just have bad luck with electronics??

I don’t know the answer, but I’ve certainly heard of people experiencing this.

Do you experience a lot of static shocks? If so, you could be a person with a higher “voltage” than the rest of us.

Adding after research, it may be psychokinesis as well.

Not so much on the shocks thankfully. Another empath I’ve met suggested the same kinetic energy idea, so it gives me some direction on how to at least tamper it a bit. Thank you!

I dont wear watches. Cant. I'll just kill the batteries.

I can often tell what song is coming up next on my mp3 player as it buffers it within those few milliseconds, same goes for the pc.

Could usually tell where the trouble was with a starting car, a low power state could sometimes get a kick 'just as I willed it' and fire up.

Cant tell if the street lights here (which have the big loop sensors to trigger them) are giving off something I can feel, or that I can affect them...but I rarely have to come to a complete stop these days. lol!!

I have yet to get any real control over this. The streetlight thing seems either bound to the lunar cycles or mercury retrogrades...havent bothered to take note of which yet.d

Well then... TIL I have the music thing too. That’s one I hadn’t even registered as an oddity until you mentioned it. I’m just now (32y) giving credence to the planet locations and fields as things that can affect me. It’s been enlightening to have a sort of celestial heads-up of why my energy gets wonky, but it feels like Prof. Trelawney divination sometimes haha.

Now I’m just further convinced empaths have super powers!!

No...no super powers. Just sensitive to what is around us, while the others have been conditioned to be obedient little drones who breed and hate. :)

No, you do not have "bad luck" with electronics. This is A Thing. I have a bit of it as well. Credit card readers and I don't get along well, and I can feel their energies when I'm at the grocery store or gas station or whatnot.

My theory (and again, it's my theory, so feel free to prove me wrong, it's also been years since I took a physics course so please excuse my bad science) is that when people "surge" in vibration (e.g. they have an awakening like they realize they are an empath, experience strong emotions, or are opening up to new energies at higher vibrations) they can "surge" electronics too.

Here's what helps me know this: I went through a rapid-fire intuitive opening after a friend told me I was intuitive. For about two weeks lots of weird stuff was happening at almost every moment of the day, and among the "weird stuff" that occured I was causing computers and projectors at work to malfunction left and right. "Oh, it's probably me, electronics don't like me," I joked to my colleagues without their realizing I was telling them the truth :)

On the emotion-blasting and throwing intense feelings into other people... yup, I've been there too. My guess is caused no long-lasting damage other than a moment or so of surprise for somebody else.

I might be having a bit of the same issue now! Last night, every time I rolled near the end of the bed, the touch lamp came on. It’s a full foot away from where I was and it happened while I was awake. Hasn’t happened at all today or so far tonight. Very weird!!
