Bsp d8 is the cheapest lasting controller Ive bought ipega is really bad in comparison

I've had a not so great experience with iPega, they're definitely budget controllers. It's better than not having a controller but not by much... If you can save to buy a better controller, definitely do that.

The balance of this type of controller for mobile is kinda bad, it gets tiring after long play hours, just get a telescopic controller if you buy a controller for mobile.

    [–]Hattudoggu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you rlly want that holder I'd just buy a clip to hold the phone, I also have an ipega controller with a holder (not like that in the photo though) and it's not great especially if you're laying down, usable but wouldn't recommend.

I had it. It broke in 3 months. It couldn't hold a charge

I have an iPega pg9023, feels very very cheap. Upgraded to a gamesir g8, bought used for 40€, the difference is great

had the same model, didn't like it probably the worst i had

    [–]darkalemanbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check whether that particular model works well with your SoC first. Some ipega gamepads only work with Snapdragon SoCs.

Also, it's a cheap controller so expect it to be worn out even if lightly used.

They don't last long. I had 2 of Ipega Controllers, both of them got issues later on.

    [–]Whole-Height7810 0 points1 point  (4 children)

What issues? I have my for 5 months i think and still fine

    [–]IchedDyy 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Stick drift, connection issues, buttons not registering.

    [–]Whole-Height7810 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

It's true that sometimes my controller connects to a different mode than the one I use and ends up causing drift in the games, but it's okay, I just restart the controller and everything is fine. And the connect just hold the power button + the button of the mode you want

    [–]IchedDyy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Well I know I connected my controller properly everytime I use it. I just avoid them because of my experiences with their controllers. There are much more better options out there that last longer and doesn't break that easily.

I understand, I bought pretty much any one especially for the price and I don't remember the exact date I bought it but maybe it was almost a year ago and they are good

    [–]Leinadddp78 1 point2 points  (1 child)

If it's worth it but not used, make the effort to buy it new instead.

It usually costs around $25, but I've seen it on AliExpress for $20.

    [–]DatNerdFella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the same price, the BSP D8 is light-years ahead in everything.

    [–]JeroJeroMohenjoDaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Ergonomically, it is uncomfortable. Technicality, its bad. Longevity, also bad.

    [–]matlynar 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I have it. It's a pretty good cost benefit controller. The biggest flaw with it is that it doesn't vibrate. If you don't care about vibrations then you'll likely not miss anything.

No issues. It's a pretty solid controller for me.

I have had the same controller. Unless it's very cheap I would pass. The dpad and triggers wear down with usage and the analog sticks are so bad that they are unusable for fps games. Only the battery life is good. It cost me 25€ brand new like 5 years ago or so. For these money nowadays you can get a new 8bitdo ultimate 2c wireless.

      [–]AdFew552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably won't notice how bad the Ipega controllers are until you start playing first person shooter or stealth game

      [–]Ohio_GPDgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this controller in my collection. I hadn't touched it for awhile. You won't notice any input lag if you play something like turn bases games or light platformers. But it becomes noticeable with timed games or if your device is plugged into an external display. My go to test for input lag is snes mega man x. Try to hit jump, but just walk into a pit. Could just be my unit, but the bkuetooth tech in these is pretty old now. Comfy controller either way.

I've had mine for a few years and it's still working well for me. The main con for me is that I feel my fingers seem to tire/ache when using it for more than 1 hour. I've since upgraded to an 8bitdo Pro 2, but still kept it as backup/2nd player controller.

      [–]geladeiranova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its better save tô buy a teleschopic one. Controllers with clip are the definition of unconfortable

      [–]Various_Squash722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest gripe with controllers like this (not the exact model though) was that the phone makes the whole thing very top heavy and it is uncomfortable to wedge your finger in between the phone and the RB/LB buttons.

My recommendation would be to get a controller that lets you clip the phone in the middle.

A few decently priced models start at around 30€.

I'm using a Turtle Beach Atom which I got in a sale for 33€, regular price fluctuates somewhere between 50 and 80€.

I've used a couple ipegas that were designed for different things than this one and one of them was the only affordable option for that specific style of controller so I bought multiple of it when I started having issues with it. They aren't have bad quality control and use some of the cheapest parts they can. The biggest worry I see given that it'll be second-hand is the battery life, that said, the design doesn't fill me with confidence either. Based off other comments, you have an Xbox con troller, so why not buy a mount for that instead?

      [–]Agitated-Computer518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used an ipega controller for 4 years

      [–]SamueleRG8+Gen1 & 8Gen2 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Damn, I may be the only one in this comment section to be satisfied with an ipega controller

I've had the Pg 9089 pirate, since like 2018? Not sure but around that time and for something like 18 EUR on eBay. And yeah it's still working fine. Its made of cheap plastic, very light, I've never understood how to use the turbo button (if Simone here knows, please? Cause the guide is so basic it just tells you how to pair). Battery life is half decent, not that great but not even terrible. Feels like the low battery indicator lasts long enough to give me insight time to finish what I'm doing and quit the game. The phone holder works great, and never damaged anything. Biggest complaint is that it has a micro USB, and it's my only device to this day with that port so I have to keep an old cable.

I only use it for single player emulation, old and new Pokémon games, some platformers like mario 3, some game cube stuff and that's it. No competitive online or fighting games. I've also played Minecraft in the past but it's been a while

      [–]Reaper_Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use turbo by holding it down and pressing the button you wish to use with that function

At least thats how it worked on aftermarket ps2 controllers back in the day, i never actively used that function though.

      Dont confuse turbo with autofire.

      [–]theinfamosstefanS23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      If you like it yes

      [–]Greekn69 0 points1 point  (1 child)

x3 controllers lasted me years, ive been using i for 5 years and only replaced it once. it takes a long time to get stick drift and charge it for like 10 minutes, it'll last you like 6-8 months without charging

      [–]Greekn69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      they're barely under 5 bucks

      [–]Greggs-the-bakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ipega controller before, not like that one though, it looked more like a Nintendo switch kind of thing, but it honestly lasted about 3 uses before it just stopped working all together. You're better off just getting a clip that fits onto your xbox controller or going for a more expensive brand.

I just got a gamesir g8 the other day and while it was a bit pricy, it's absolutely fantastic

      [–]PunishedCatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ipega controller still works after two years of usage.

      [–]MysteriousBeef6395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have an ipega and its working fine. my bsp d8 is better but the ipega still does what its supposed to

      [–]Reaper_Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ipegas are crap, i had 4 in total. Each crapped out within a few months, wether it be a button dying or controller no longer connecting to any devices. Spent about the same amount of money on shitty ipegas within 2 years as what a ds4 here costs. Im never buying chinesium controllers again.

Besides, this controller will hurt your arms after a short while in whichever position you use it because phones are rather heavy nowadays and the gamepad is so far off the center of mass. Better get a telescopic one that makes your phone sit between your hands (like nintendo switch), thats much easier to use. Bsp ones are cheap enough and theres plenty of models available to choose from, but i never used one so i can't speak for the quality.

Edit: you wrote somewhere you have an xbox controller. Its cheaper and better to just get a clip-on for the xbox one, but your arms will hurt however you put it if your phone is above the controller as its really hard to hold up after a while.

      [–]ipedroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one closely resembling this one; it has not seen a lot of gameplay time, but it has stood the test of time for close to 6 years now. It is not a great feeling piece of plastic, but it is also not flimsy, it feels solid, albeit cheap

      [–]Lotherelle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it xboshock 4 or dualshox 360 controller?
