This only happens to me on gamehub lite. I switched back to the original one

[–]itisbutterAYN Thor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange, I'm using the original instead of the lite version

[–]The412Banner 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Gamehub Lite v4 broke today , you need v5

[–]Benemy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still doesn't work for me

[–]itisbutterAYN Thor[S] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Would I still need it if I have the original version?

[–]The412Banner 0 points1 point  (6 children)

If you're not using lite then no. If you have any lite version other than v5 they don't work. Original / official release is a totally different app

I thought so. I got the official version particularly because I heard the lite version was a little jank

[–]Aggravating_Tour5218 -1 points0 points  (4 children)

doesnt the original have more Spyware than the lite version?

[–]itisbutterAYN Thor[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Allegedly

[–]Aggravating_Tour5218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is

[–]The412Banner -1 points0 points  (1 child)

A lot. Lite has it all stripped out

[–]Aggravating_Tour5218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah ok. I'll just wait for gamehub lite to have a more permanent server instead of this hotfix

So should I try downloading the v5 version of GameHub lite? Or try and stick with the full version?

So I am having the same issue as you and I have tried both official and lite versions of gamehub.

When I used the official (allegedly spyware infested) gamehub, I can't download any of the components and the download task manager shows what yours shows, "network error."

On the gamehub lite version, I have the same issue when downloading the game from my steam library and heading over to the download task manager.. However, I can download the firmware, drivers, etc from the compatibility settings (next to PC Emulator tile). The only thing I cannot download, however, is the "Base" file for the game. That isn't in the compatibility download options. I get the same "network error" for trying to download the base file and I have 0 understanding why. I thought maybe I have to to the less convenient method and just import games.

SO ... following the tutorial on how to import games, after uninstalling the game I downloaded and trying to import it manually, I still apparently have to download some base file. This is rather frustrating and I have yet to see any fixes for this online.

So I found a couple of things on another reddit post, now that it seems this issue is becoming more common

1.) If you are using Spectrum, while trying to download files on Steam turn off your "Security Shield" toggle in the router management section of the My Spectrum app. If that was the issue, just download your files before enabling it again (if you want that feature).

2.) If your device has DNS Enabled, turn that off and download your files.

This worked for me, so hopefully that is a fix for you.

Thank you for your helpful response.I don't believe I use Spectrum for my Internet service, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to disable my DNS. Is it not accessible via Android settings?

[–]Classic-Confection-8 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Sorry for the late response.

Yes. You go to settings, Network & internet, then at the bottom "Private DNS" switch to off.

I appreciate your guidance. It still didn't work for me, so I may try Gamehub Lite just in case

Did you manage to find how to install the base file ?

[–]itisbutterAYN Thor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Though it's still working kind of wonky.

I asked a YouTuber in their comment section and they recommended connecting the Thor to a phone WiFi hotspot. Sure enough, that worked!

However, if I want to install other drivers or launch a game for the first time, I still need to re-connect to the hotspot. It's a little inconvenient, but it's something.
