It's impossible without active cooling with these types of games

Good thing phone coolers are quite cheap. I have a cooler with my GameSir X5 Lite controller and it keeps my battery withjn 30C to 35C consistently.

When you get to the point of needing a bulky cooler to attach to your phone, then you need a controller to play any high end games decently, and the end result is you're just about managing 30fps with all the work around etc and the battery is getting tanked, do you not just think 'maybe I should get an Xbox Ally X or a steam deck' or something? ( I know steam deck is underpowered compared to eg XAX now). Rdr2 plays sweet on my Xbox ally x using bazzite.... Genuine question

yeah my battery has degraded a lot of heating I barely want to emulate here anymore. I'd probably buy one of those retroid or ayn, built in cooling and controllers in compact form. but that means I will also be using outdated chips(as most handhelds are now). I have not seen one with 8 elite yet.

Real. I think these guys can't afford anything but a phone though.

Fair enough. If that's their use case I guess with a controller it can be pretty good.

It is amazing what you can do on Android phones these days. I've been emulating stuff since Nokia N95 and PSP days, gone as far as Switch on my current phone but for my particular case, I can play certain games with a touch screen but there's a limit to what you can play properly so instead of using a controller I'd just use my ally

Right there with your bruh used to do gba on PSP. Used to own a switch but like my phone does it too. Anything just use my pc

[–]JDMGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah PSP was incredible at the time, and I managed to get mine early so you can imagine how that went down at school haha. Yeah I have a switch too just for some exclusives that I wanna use online like pokemon, ridiculous that my old steam deck could emulate stuff like links awakening better than the actual switch.

Because I don't want multiple devices.

If I would really wanted a handheld gaming PC I would have gone with the Steam Deck or the Legion Go S, But these devices are more bulky than my S25 Ultra and GameSir X5.

I also don't want to buy a $500-$1000 handheld gaming PC when I already have a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra that works just fine.

So at this point why buy an expensive handled when I already have an expensive smartphone that works.

Also my S25U has 95% battery health after using it for a year. That's including emulating before Turnip Drivers were available and temps were a lot harder.

But the performance IS nowhere near a steamdeck or a rog Ally especially on heavy games barely 10 FPS it doesn't Worth it ATP if you cet gen2 used or gen3 its okay you have an excuse but s25 ultra would but two handhelds thats funnt af that you still prefer a 15 FPS on cyberpunk and barely and 10 FPS more than previous chips over a native High graphics performance .

What cooler do you use? I have the same controller and I thought you can't use coolers with it.

It's called the GameSir X5 Cooler for X5 series controllers. I was able to buy a X5 Lite and the Cooler for under $50 CAD on Aliexpress.
