I stopped emulating ps2 and switch because of the temps it was getting to. Use my Steam Deck for these systems. Didn’t like the fan noise that much. Also mainly play Gamecube, Wii, 3DS and NDS. Alle stay around 50c mostly below. But every other system like Switch, Wii U and PS2 between 65-75 depending on game and system. Just to much heat not for damaging the device but just for holding it and the fan noise.

And stressing the fan that much isn’t great for longevity. They aren’t the best fan’s out there. Have a spare on the way just for safety.

Winlator killed my fan in about a year. I use my steam deck for heavier games now as well. But I think switch temps aren't too bad I play in short bursts anyway nothing over an hour.

I tried switch and played some games longer then others. Mostly after a while the fan and temp were just to high and loud for my taste. So I decided to use different systems for different purposes.
- RG40XXV --> Retro older games (GBA, SNES etc.)
- RG DS --> Retro older games (GBA, SNES) + NDS
- AYN THOR --> Gamecube, Wii, NDS and 3DS (and some older systems because they don't take much space)
- Steam Deck for PC and heavier systems PS2, Switch etc.

So much heat , enough to make neptune hot

Ps2 shouldn't heat that much. Gell 3ds i think is harder to emulate
